On Linux I have an app where I can arbitrarily program stuff to make a virtual joystick/mouse, really wish I could find it's equal on windows. Most useful feature was to enable mouse look (for planes) on hat switch left, up, or right and then have a virtual mouse pan all the way in the proper direction.
This...

Lonewolf. I'm sorry that the laws of physics and the speed of light are inconveniencing you, but I don't think contacting comcast can have any effect on the constants of the universe.
The absolute straightline path for light from dallas to LA and back takes 13ms. I'd say after including the slower speed of light through a fiber, plus router delays 30ms is actually pretty good.

It gets really bad on Berlin when someone in the allied base wants to camp in the base with the tank. It's an open invitation to spam the whole spawn with nades. By the rules, it's open season. That said, camping in the allied base with the allied tank is one of the most annoying behaviors I've seen, and there are some players that it's all they do when they are on Berlin.
Well, the server is down. If this is IceBag$ following through on threats, might I suggest legal action of some sort?
Rob1nn was on SiMPLE USA today and seems to have toned down. No problems.
Then you might be interested in DCS
Slightly related, and it might help a little bit. Can we add whatever it is that auto kicks AFK players? I've seen this on several servers.
I've noticed that the problem is usually not intentional team stacking, but people who aren't doing well or dying a lot deciding to leave. This typically means the losing team. And once the balance starts tipping even more players leave. Having an only change once rule would make it difficult for players that want to fix the balance. I'd be in favor of auto team balance, or that isn't desired, at least prevent people from intentionally stacking by changing teams to the team with more players.
On a side note, this is another area where bots cause problems. I've seen cases where one team might have 8 bots and the other team only 2. When naive players choose a team, they try to balance the total number. Additionally, any server side team balancing would likely take bots into account.
Kharkov will cause a lot of confusion. Better make it B5 and G5 at max. Because noobs will always shoot the planes from the captured flag. Just my opinion, sorry if unneeded.
Given the view distance, there is no way to tell if a plane in that vicinity has just taken off, or is on an attack run. In any case, it's very close to the enemy flag and if you don't fire on it, you are likely to die.
Good point about the 'stang...It was the Mustang that allowed us to cover/escort our bombers, over thousands of miles, against enemy land targets with real Fighters in WW2. Bombing with impunity. Because of that...many historians consider the Mustang to be one of the main reasons we won the war. It was also the Mustang to approach the speed of the German jets in a shallow dive and shoot one down. Some pilots found out what happens when your blade tips approach the speed of sound.~
The Mustang was necessary, but adding the Mustang to bomber escorts didn't change much. It was the end of the bomber mafia that ended the Luftwaffe's reign. Before the changeover in leadership, the mission of escort fighters was to protect the bombers. They were not supposed to patrol away from the bombers, follow enemy fighters if they depart more than a certain distance, altitude, etc. Doolittle taking over changed all that. The new mission of the escort fighters was to destroy the Luftwaffe.

One thing I notice, Bos, that is worth mentioning. You are able to toggle back and forth between views without scrolling through them. I set up my "V" key for cockpit view to go back and forth quickly. It seems you did something similar.
It is a good BF 1942 tip that I am sharing with the forums now in case some of your had not considered it.
Game on.
If you happen to use the joystick, the hat switch is ideal for this.
Ack to all of these. Well chosen.
I wonder who was the great tanker who gave axis m10 that's the real story
None, someone snuck into the base and drove away with it. IMHO, it would be a real bummer to have both your tanks sitting in the enemy base the whole round and not be able to do anything about it without risking a ban.
He's back on SiMPLE USA, pretty much much constant chat spam along with team wounding, and attacking enemy uncap, even with tanks. He also does the " ." crap. Why does this guy not have a ban for life?

In this case it was rather black and white as it involved driving an M10 tank back to the "safety" of the axis base.
Really, any and all public CD keys and commonly used bogus keyhashes should be on the banlist. Allowing players to use them just leads to confusion later on when they get banned.
I was enough far away from the bridge, you can not attack up there.
Playing on Allies side on Omaha Beach is impossible, because axis run on beach and allies cant take it. i suggest to make fortifies a neutral point, then axis couldn't get to the beach until it will be taken by allies...
It's one of the more challenging maps, but not impossible. It only really gets impossible when only a small part of the team is playing Omaha Beach, while the rest of the team is playing Sniper Island.

My main point is that losing a capital ship should be a major event in this battle, something that can even decide the battle. Right now it doesn't really matter if you sink an enemy carrier, because it will re-spawn in a minute or two as if nothing had happened.
There are a number of problems with this. The first being is that most players don't care about anything naval. They don't have the patience for it, and there are usually more players than ships anyway. The second is view distance. For a navy to successfully defend against something like the prince of whales, it needs to be able to see it. And the only thing that can decently defend against a well manned one is the japanese equivalent. By the time anyone actually sees that the enemy ship is in the area, it's far too late for any other ships to come aid the battle. Unless both ships round the island on the same side, the battle would just be both ships head to the opposite side, sink the carrier, followed by the two destroyers. Now you have 2 steerable ships and up to 18 players per team. It would just become a very boring map.
LOL! That is just not right you TS info using bastege.~
Well he was talking specifically to me, so I think it's ok
I'm slowly collecting some compilation of wins and fails (SiMPLE USA), but I really like this one. Stairway2Heaven was in the SDB and bailed. You can hear him in TS saying that he's watching the tank, so I figure, hey, maybe I see him. I turn around at :28 and see him way off at the sandbags, but the tank pitches down, as soon as the tank pitches back up, I fire off a shell.

Bonus points for hedley still being hedley in chat.
First the damn keys off my keyboard, then the scroll wheel from my mouse, and now this.
In the real battle at Omaha Beach USN destroyers were able to put direct fire on German positions with their 5" guns.
With the current configuration of this map the fog makes this unfeasible.
I would like to see this map have the fog reduced enough that you could at least see the pillboxes overlooking the beach and be able to fire on them without having to guess where they are. This would be more realistic, and also more fun for gunners. It could work both ways, such that it would be easier for the destroyers to be seen as well; the destroyers (and landing craft) did take fire from German artillery in the real battle.
Meh, the pillboxes on the middle flag do nothing. As long as you keep moving, the chances of getting killed by machine gun fire or sniper fire from these pill boxes is almost zero.
It's the defguns and the tanks that end up being the issue. It's already really easy for the defguns to hit and sink the destroyer. They can't see it, but their snipers can see it and spot it. I wish there were an easier way for allied snipers to spot the defguns and tanks without capping the middle point. I have no clue how that would be done.
good point, he/she was bombing tanks so i thought that would be fair game.
Really it's a bit of a grey area, but on many maps like Kursk and Kharkov, the runway takes off very close to enemy action. The pilot taking off has an option to turn away from that to gain altitude. If they don't turn away and instead head for enemy action, they are fair game even before they start firing.
Try lightworks https://www.lwks.com/
Just add +restart 1 +joinServer 162.217.248.97:14567 to the shortcut and never have a join crash again.
Tuia, let's remove nades and add unmovable Katyusha and Wespe to both sides of Berlin, it will be the best map on server.
No, clearly what berlin needs is planes. And also PT boats in the river.
Russ wrote:Oscar Goldman wrote:I wish there was a fix for this too.
The world is imperfect.
There is a very simple fix. Don't leave mines laying around where your teammates need to maneuver.
Easier said than done. Many a-time I've incurred TKs for mines left in places only the enemy should be maneuvering. For example, one might think that when playing on the Allied side in Market Garden, it would be safe to mine the south side of either bridge. Never mind the fact that crossing either bridge takes you to the enemy uncap main, some fool (or bot) will drive over it anyway. Some games you can just tell it's not worth it trying to lay mines anywhere.
Given the server rules of not attacking the enemy uncap, mining the Market Garden bridge is in all ways a positive. It's when people put mines between capturable flags that it prevents your own team from maneuvering where they need to.
