what he said. + one more thing, sometimes you can open such files (install whatever.exe) with winrar, and extract the mod that way instead.

If you think its worth the trouble, try virtualbox with xp, you can hook up the game directory via "shared folders" option.

Been thinking of making a simple mod or perhaps just some maps for the custom map server. It think it doesnt have to be so complicated, but more like small refinements and such. Could be a community project if enough members are interested.

yeah, i think there is some limit set in the org bf42.exe and the mods max this out, not sure tho. there is some consolecommand to show a bunch of stuff like memory usage and such, but i have forgot what the command was.
