ya guys know bfv? i didn't until very recently - at some point, i tried getting that ww2 mod, but it requires v1.1 of bfv for installation; i don't have access to it, it's a dinosaur to me...
the gist of the issue - the mod installer seemingly checks your game version against the required 1.1 before installing, and mine is a later one (1.21,) so it refuses to work - tells me i don't have bfv installed!
anyone know a workaround w/ this likely anti-piracy measure? unsure how to downgrade at this point, or if it's possible - unsure how to spoof installer, since i don't know how it checks the game

Perhaps you can change this in the registry. At least to install the old patch.
But make a backup from the registry section and backup the GameFolder also.
> Registry 32 Bit OS > [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\EA Games\Battlefield Vietnam]
> Registry 64 Bit OS > [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SYSWOW64\EA Games\Battlefield Vietnam]
There change the version > "INSTALLEDVERSION"="1.21.001" to "INSTALLEDVERSION"="1.1"
...
But as i can read here...
http://www.4players.de/4players.php/dow … I_Mod.html
Battlefield Vietnam World War II Mod v1.0
The WW2 Mod REQUIRES Battlefield Vietnam v1.1 or higher to run.
In this case just change the registry setting to "INSTALLEDVERSION"="1.1" and after the mod change it back to "INSTALLEDVERSION"="1.21.001"
...
But remind... make also first a backup of your existing BfVietnam Folder. When everything works fine later delete it.

Had this issue also. You must find a version of BFV on 1.0 or 1.2, then install the mod. Google .iso websites .. you can find BFV on one of them.
...
Just change the registry entry to 1.1 and then you can install the mod.

my bfv registry was seemingly very screwed up (wasn't able to switch mods without mounting, and when i finally opened the registry, many expected folders were missing, with their values seemingly... strewn around, to say the least) - so i finally decided to find and install the 1.0 edition, update it to 1.1, install the ww2 mod for this version, and then move the mod folder back to my regular version of bfv. uploading it somewhere now, hopefully i'll be able to aid a similarly-troubled individual sometime
