Anyone have any luck transferring Windows 7 user settings over to a Windows 10 system? I've heard you can copy the Migration Wizard from the Win7 system to the Win10 and use it, but I haven't tried it yet.

I think I already tried both "game.interpolationTime" and "game.interpolationtime," but I'll try it again tonight. From the error message I thought maybe I don't have rights for that command.
Interesting article. I went on to read part 4, and the end of the Lag Compensation section sounds like my experiences with ducking behind walls. Given the article's example server time step or update frequency of 100 ms, I wonder if the algorithm could be improved by adding a delay between pulling the trigger and the weapon actually firing. A 100 ms delay could eliminate the issue of being hit behind cover, without the shooter experiencing a "no way I missed" moment. The downside might be that the delay is too noticeable by the shooter, but there might be a "compromise" delay value somewhere between 0 and 100 ms (again, using the article's example).
Is game.interpolationtime anything like that?

Shortly after I first registered on SiMPLE I reported some people for blatant base rape on one of the FRA servers, and one of the names was similar, maybe Fartovui or Fartovvi. I can't find that post, so I think it was lost when the Forum server had a data loss (around last May or June) and I had to re-register. I thought I'd recently seen two players in the same game with names like that (although not necessarily causing trouble at the time), so there may be multiple Fart*s playing on the server. And yes, the problems I've had with them have been when no admins were around. Other times they seem to be behaving.

The hit box in BF is an interesting thing in itself...some of the better players have long ago figured out the dynamics of movement as related to the hit box and use it to their advantages in game. Similar to being shot when you duck behind sandbags from a standing position for instance...for a moment...your hit box is still above the bags even though you are not.

I always thought getting hit after ducking behind something was caused by lag, because it happens a lot to me on another server where my ping is higher than most. Do you think what you are describing is related to lag, and is just worse with higher ping?

Maybe players with BFSoldier or other default names should be asked to change their names if they otherwise attract attention. For example, if BFSoldier is doing some suspicious things, or causing trouble that doesn't quite rise to the level of being kicked, ask him to change his name. Also, if BFSoldier is near the top of the scoring list, he should have enough experience to know better than using a default name, and that seems suspicious to me if he does. Ask him to change his name. For an obvious noob named BFSoldier who isn't causing problems, leave him alone; he'll eventually learn he can set a unique name.

Over the time I've been playing BF1942 online, one thing I've seen that often makes me suspicious is people kitted with the sniper rifle who just seem "too good" with their aim. More specifically I'll see a sniper who can hop back and forth and get a killing shot (usually on me) in much less time than I know it takes my crosshairs to converge, and I always wondered how they did it. One time could be a lucky shot, but often these players can do it pretty consistently.
Last night I found this page on EA's site: http://answers.ea.com/t5/Battlefield-19 … d-p/175678. At the end of the list, under "Other minor issues include" is this: "Sniper Rifles are dead accurate for half a second after running. Commonly used exploit." I haven't actually tried this, but it does seem like it could be what I'm seeing.
My question is this: is this a known issue here on SiMPLE, and if so is it allowed or forbidden?

Market Garden on FRA server. Vasso was repeatedly bombing the Axis base. Fartovii landed the B-17 on the Axis base and started shooting it up with the plane's guns. BFSoldier intentional TK with a bazooka on Axis main. An atmosphere like that is not worth playing on, so I just left a couple of minutes ago.

Not being worked on, it is complete according to web sites. However it is set to release (Jan 1, 2016) as a stand alone game for purchase. I'm not exactly sure how that works.. seems like anyone buying it would also have Battlefield 1942 ready to go. I recently made an inquiry.
According to the web site for the new version of EoD, http://www.eod-game.com/info.htm, "In 2013 the game was completely rebuilt and received it's [sic] own engine based upon Unity 3D." So it doesn't need BF1942, or BF2, etc.

When I was on the USA server a few days ago I saw a new rule cycling through the chat section, something like do not sit in the uncap main and fire from it. I haven't seen any discussion on it in the forum, but it seems like it would make moot a lot of the discussion about returning fire into a main. Does this also mean you aren't allowed to use fixed weapons such as the AA guns from a main, or just weapons/vehicles you could take out of the base?

This advice is meant to be helpful, so I hope it's taken that way. Avoid using the suicide button at all costs if you are worried about being kicked for minus score. If you do end up upside-down in a landing craft you should still be able to exit it with the "e" command. If you are still trapped under it, it might be possible to let yourself die if you wait long enough (maybe a couple of minutes), without losing any points, similar to if you were to bail out of a plane in the middle of the ocean and be stuck in the water too long. Does anyone know for sure whether or not this is the case?
You might just disconnect and come back to the game. Some servers might not allow this for purposes of avoiding a minus score, so maybe an admin could comment. Maybe it would be OK if you first wrote a message to chat saying you are stuck by the upside-down landing craft bug. If this isn't allowed you might as a last resort just disconnect and wait for the next game to start.

Hey, I'm curious. When someone posts to the SiMPLE Forum it puts the user's "title" under the user name. I think I can figure out the three most common; "Player" is a normal player, "Member" is an admin (although I'm not sure if that's always the case), and "Noob" is a new player (but what determines when they go from "Noob" to "Player?").
There are other less common titles, and I'm curious as to what they mean. They look to me like special titles given to a select few, possibly based on personality, etc. I know tuia ("Born again") is the main admin, and some other examples culled from the most active posters are "Filet mignon," "T-bone," "Pariah," "Rival," "Bloodhound," "Trigger-happy," "Good Samaritan," "Flamer," "No life," and "Fool."
I can kind of figure out most of them, but I think it would be fun to hear how people got and get these titles. Who's got stories?

the guys who are attacking servers are a couple of guys, 1 located in germany, second in france, and the guy that made theyre scripts is located in finland and some other idiots as well , most of them aged around the 20 -25 years old (student or just graduated) they always go innocent like " i dont crash servers" or troll the shit out of servers by using multiple hacks , they never will learn by the looks and theyre "goal" seems to be crashing server after server after server , for example, the crash oz wake, then go to another server and take that 1 down, etc etc etc ; they steal names from players to make the REAL 1 look bad , they hide behind vpn and changing servers ip wont help ya a thing,(they do however need to connect ingame to flood /crash it ) they just "flood " a server so people get disconnected from the game , and cant rejoin thanks to the nice message "server is full " while its actually empty . a group of guys im working with are seriously thinking about taking legal steps vs this guys on the fact they flood servers (denial of service ) and that is a illegal action to start anyways, i dont care if they read it in here either, we did warn them in the past and since they decided to continue theyre shit, so will we .

It was fine for a few months, but I'm now having issues with it bowing upward in the middle, so I wouldn't recommend it now. That doesn't have anything to do with my original problem with the mouse jumping, however, because it just started to bow in the last couple of weeks.

BTW, what was he doing to switch sides like that and avoid negative points? He was able to do it with more weapons than just grenades, and he was switching very quickly. Was it hacking, or just a keyboard macro? He did get one actual TK that cost him 3 points, so maybe a macro but wasn't fast enough that one time.
Not that it matters, but I think I misspoke about the map. It was Market Garden, not Aberdeen.
