Hello, I have the impression that I have the same issues as used to have:
-The game launches, the intro video plays fine.
-In the menu, the menu initially appears all fine. But fields, click-boxes, sliders don't show.
-scanning for servers works fine
-once I launch a local game (without chaning any settings, of course), the game loads fine. The game then starts and bots deploy. I can select a player class (though again selection doesn't show). Once I join the game it immediately collapses and I am thrown back to windows.

Could you explain what to do about d3d8.dll? what is dg Voodoo 2? anything else?

Download the files in this ZIP: https://www.mediafire.com/file/5usi2voy … o.ZIP/file

Place them in your main game folder. Start the game and it should be fixed.

yeah thats right.  But sometimes i notice when i play i also have bad days little bit shaky aim etc.  I dont think its always the reg the reason why cant hit. tongue

Yeah, my aim tends to peak during the first 1-2 hours of gameplay then it’s just downhill from there.

FYI, Oli played for mousesports back in the days. That was the best clan at that time, and now people like 000 think they are the best cause they have good stats due to spawncamping on public.
No hate, but I am sure back in the days 000 would be an average inf.
You actually had to aim for the head to kill those top infs, bodyshots wouldn't help much.

Btw. there is no need to add an enemy as buddy, unless you want to target him, which I am sure you do.

Cmon dary, how do you think that someone who uses the medic class in a map like Aberdeen would be of any use in a clan war? He is as useless as they come. Let him be the best of public trash, nobody cares

Is there a distinction between this and the game.serverCoopAiSkill that BF Server Manager lets you control?

Yes, the commands above deal with the amount of CPU given to the bots, while the command you posted deals with the skill that is given to them. More info here: https://www.bfmods.com/viewtopic.php?p=32951#p32951

Hi.
There were questions in chat about how to get your cheap membrane keyboard perform better during dogfights.

Problem: This type of keyboards has a limit of how many keys you can press simultaneously. Meaning that if you want to perform a complex maneuvre in your plane, you might not succeed, since your keyboard won't register some of your input.

This is a free simplest solution and testing guidance.

Here is a website that shows you in real time how your keyboard performs i.e. which buttons are pressed
https://www.microsoft.com/applied-scien … sting-demo

https://i.ibb.co/XZjtFSf/demo.png

-Try pressing S, D, Down Arrow, Right Arrow. Chances are, you won't be able to due to limits. You get the idea..
-My solution is to remap the arrow keys to NUM8, NUM5, NUM4, NUM6.  (NUM0 for bombs). These schematics will allow for most combination you need during df. Test for yourself. Extra bonus you get a more even hand position for the adhd bois outthere.

P.S. pic of my old beater keyboard which is a logitech k310 washable low-profile kb that I really like and want to keep as long as possible smile

Cool, thanks. I’ll try that out.

#287 Re: Technical Help » Resolutions and refresh rates » 2023-10-30 03:18:34

Sounds like an issue with the cable I used to plug in my monitor. The display port seems to have a limited number of refresh rates in the BF1942 video menu, while with HDMI, I can access the resolution I want now. Odd.

Although it is rather low.
I have to move the mouse twice to be able to turn completely.
Since close combat is the exception, this is best for me.
A mouse pad is also important.
The smooth speed mouse pads are sheer horror in my opinion.
I use a slow control mouse pad.
As different as the players and their playing styles are, so are the settings.

The same thing is 0 sens in the game and I adjust the mouse dpi sometimes at the highest (in my opinion 3200) sometimes at stage 4 (2800) redragon mirage and the mat are also from it, and the sensitivity of windows does not matter at all
Polling rate 8? Is it 1000 Hz for everyone, or do you mean something else?

I think he meant a polling rate of 8000 Hz… that’s overkill man, I thought the limit was 1000 hz

I’ve tried that, but with the mouse I have I have to set the DPI to the highest setting otherwise the mouse moves very slowly. What I usually do is set a very low mouse sensitivity like hencca mentioned and adjust the DPI accordingly so it doesn’t feel too slow, while at the same time giving me enough control. Raw mouse input is always best, I wish bf1942 had a command for that like CS does.

I’ll have to check the Nvidia Control Panel, perhaps I missed something.

Could this also be caused by issuing the Display Port cable vs HDMI?

Then henks patch isn’t the issue. What base game version are you using? Is it simple HD?

I have all the resolutions all the way to 144 hz in the Windows settings. The command is set to 1, doesn’t change anything. I suspect it’s henk’s patch, I’ll try again with a fresh installation.

I recently bought a new monitor that has a native resolution of 2560x1440 and a refresh rate of 144 hz (165 hz with overclocking through the DisplayPort).

I am running henk’s patched EXE which fixes the master server list and other things, but I can’t select the desired resolution for 2560x1440. The only refresh rates available are 59 hz and 60 hz. All other resolutions support up to 120 hz.

In my VideoDefault.con, the command to allow all refresh rates is set to 1.

Why can’t I select 2560x1440@120 hz in the menu? I also have BF2 installed and I can select the desired frame rate there with the maximum resolution. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.
