We all recognize the value and the need as well, of energy. To stay warm in winters bite. To cool when the heat is unbearable. To cook our food. To power our vehicles and mass transit. It has been some long searching for a clean energy source and low cost. Little by little, gains have been made but the concerns still live on. From the Lithium Ion battery to the Fuel Cell technology. Here is what just happened last week and the future does look a little "brighter" if you will pardon the pun.
I have my hopes up as well. IF and the IF is accentuated, it does work, it will be the first breakthrough since the first "Atomic Power Plant" was put in operation and electricity will be almost FREE! ***For those of you under 50, you will NOT remember the propaganda back then. I still have some of those old "film strips" from those days.***
May this technology spread the globe as did the nuclear power plant capability and I will cross my fingers for the betterment of mankind. Oh and the belief too that there must be a heck of a profit in there for someone.
Fast and ugly partial solution for energy need:
-wipe out original population from north Africa
-build some BIG solar powerplants to cover almost all area
-send electricity to southern Europe
-or use electricity to break water to hydrogen and ship liquified hydrogen around the world to be burnt in powerplants overseas
But then again https://translate.google.com/translate? … 951650.ece
For Solar to succeed well, there needs to be a method of "storing" the electricity. That is where the issue is at a stall with solar. Tesla is and has been working on a storage method but as of last prototype, it has not been recognized yet. I will keep hope here too. Somehow the next big break, be it Helium Plasma or Gamma Ray capture and conversion to energy, in the end, the benefit damn well better be the ENTIRE Earth population. Its about time some magnificent event for the positive, turned some faces in low places to the East. Metaphorically speaking that is..........may it happen in our lifetimes.
Feels like it's on the verge of a breakpoint.
Everyone and everything is mobilising one way or the other (think oil -->> ) https://translate.google.com/translate? … edit-text=

trade in your lithium ion batteries now - on second hand, I guess they are good to keep warm....
And to think I used to consider you hot headed!
Seems it was your FEET and I was at the wrong elevation.

Well you are half way there from your perspective.....
ROFL!!!!!!!!!
Feels like it's on the verge of a breakpoint.

maybe they just are tired of the oil dependence and use this climate hoax as a lever to finally get something done.
OIL IS MONEY, MONEY RULES THE WORLD.

Honestly Monky,.........where DO you find this stuff???????????
Holy smokes!
Oh can you IMAGINE that Sunshine?
LOLOLololololoLOLOLOL
Free laffs for energy!
Flip on helium plasma switch and everyone will sound funny.
Maybe burning oil is not such a bad thing after all...
saw a vid once of one of the founders of greenpeace that had left the organisation, he said that they used to fight against nuclear power, but now he had changed his mind because nuclear power is clean in the sence of global warming. he still doesnt like it but the alternative was worse he said.
The interesting thing is that science doesnt stand still, there is a form of reactor that can use the waist from "ordinary" reactors as fuel http://www.gizmag.com/hitachi-reactor/33585/
But anyway it would be nice if we could get rid of some of our oil dependence once and for all.
So I am learning every day. I owe Monky for this latest knowledge and POSITIVE outlook for the future. Kilojoules is not a huge amount of energy but get into the millions of kilojoules and things happen. Watch the vid. We are living in good times for the future in science! Plasma baby. The 4th state of matter.

By the way bud......NICE find on burning spent nuclear waste as energy! That like a 2-fer!
:-)
High 5
Russia and China is leading the development of new reactors.
A breeder reactor is a nuclear reactor capable of generating more fissile material than it consumes
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fast_breeder_reactor
Russia just started there first gen-4 reactor December 10th 2015 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BN-800_reactor
There are also Thorium-based reactors
According to proponents, a thorium fuel cycle offers several potential advantages over a uranium fuel cycle—including much greater abundance on Earth, superior physical and nuclear fuel properties, and reduced nuclear waste production
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thorium-b … lear_power
So yeah there are much interesting technology, but for some reason not much happening.
Not much happening because tptb worship camel riding arab aristocracy, not progress.
No alternative energy source is able to contend with the density and convenience of hydrocarbons, alas.
Would've been nice though. Right now the world is burning like 14130 million litres of oil, 2346886 tons of coal and 9093150684 cubic metres of natural gas every day. There's simply no realistic way to replace the 286 TWh consumed every day by other means. Sucks!
Oil is made out of biomass, there have been multiple companies in usa (what i know of) that have researched ways to speed up this process, with different sources and methods. For some reasons they usually dissapear rather quickly once they are near a solution. One can wonder why ey
oh and by the way https://www.rt.com/business/329277-iran … il-stocks/
Maybe it's possible to manufacture, but consider the quantities you need: 15000 million litres per day. More if you consider that there's 200,000 people born every day, some 80 million added to the world's population annually.
Also, it needs to have a decent EROEI to support civilization and the Western lifestyle (which has BF1942 gaming as one of its components <3), something along the lines of 1:20 input:output. More is better.
Barring a monumental breakthrough it's simply not possible. I generally don't entertain conspiracy theories. The current worldwide recessions are all stemming from dwindling supplies of high-quality, high-eroei hydrocarbons, the single-most important commodity of this world.
