When I was a child and a pupil of the primary school, I read that book about hobbit by Tolkien at the lessons of the foreign literature. I find it great that I have a chance to watch all these good films nowadays just to compare the picture with my childish perception of that book, because that fantastic world full of elves, goblins and dwarfs has been placed into my imagination.

Yes that short film is awesome ! At the very beginning Claude Lelouch drives at 200 km/h

The message is clear : a man who dates a girl that he really likes will prefer taking many risks in order to not make that girl wait for him

It was shot in 1976 and it would be very difficult to do it again in 2014 !

Actually it wasn't planned at all. Only the 2 guys who were inside the car with Claude Lelouche (a French director, and by the way the guy who drove the Mercedes) knew about it. They didn't ask for any permission, they didn't let anyone know about this. The decision of shooting this short film was made on impulse and was breaking the law !

Without the view of a man leaving his car and meeting up with a girl at the end, the high speed drive doesn't make any sense. That's the message that the director wanted to bring.

Nice short film, back in the days you still could drive in Paris! But I testify sometimes you can still drive like this in other places ;D (if knowing where the speed cameras are).

At the end it looks like worth it!

Good movie Millerke. I downloaded it from youtube and downloaded the subs from www.subscene.com. Worked well.
