Hey everyone,
Thanks to the incredible work of Owlcat, the BF1942 community now has a Discord bot that allows you to receive real-time notifications when your favorite maps start running on your favorite BF1942 servers. That means no more refreshing server browsers or missing out on your favorite maps.
This is a massive quality-of-life improvement for players that don’t have time to monitor server rotations. With a smaller but passionate community, tools like this are huge in helping us jump into the matches we enjoy most and hopefully boost server populations.
How it works:
You simply type /subscribe in the #map-alerts channel, and prompt will allow you to select the map & server from a drop-down menu. You can also add a minimum player count if you don't want to be notified if it's an empty server.
You will then receive a private message via Discord as soon as the maps go live on your selected servers.
Major kudos to Owlcat for building this and contributing something genuinely valuable to the community. Innovations like this breathe new life into the game we all love. I've personally been wanting a tool like this for years.

Lol. That's pretty awesome!
Is Owlcat behind that real time website, too?
Is there a GitHub for this?
Is there a GitHub for this?
Unfortunately, there isn't one at the moment. I just pushed v1.1 of the bot, which includes some big improvements to how it works and a brand-new data system.
To anyone who has already configured thier alerts, because of this switch to a new data ingestion system, you'll need to reset any alerts you had configured. I know this is a hassle, and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience!
If you have any questions or have feedback, feel free to send me a DM here or on Discord.
Minor update this morning.
- Fixed a bug where servers with formatted names (e.g., italics) would not appear in the search results for the /subscribe command. All servers should now appear correctly when searching.
