Привет, я норм. У нас все нормально. Сирены бывают звучат, а так норм. Очень сплотились все, люди стоят в очередях сдавать кровь, жертвуют предметы первой необходимости, создают тереториальные громады. На самом деле такой сплоченности не видел еще, если раньше кто то в чем то сомневался, сейчас абсолютное большинство решительно настроены защищать город.

Many of news point out that several of captured Russian soldiers are young guys around 20 who said they have have no clue what they are doing there and thought they were going just for military drill/practice. Wtf is going on?

I grew up during the Cuban crisis and was drafted during the Vietnam/cold war, so I have both sides propaganda BS. I understand Russia wanting a buffer between their borders and NATO… but I don’t understand invading a country not on the border and then threaten Sweden and Finland for the same BS reason.SMH

It is sad for me to notice that Russia used to be the 3rd most powerful economy in the world in 1913. Russian culture has a long and rich history, steeped in literature, ballet, painting and classical music. France and Russia share many historical ties.

The truth is that Russia has been experiencing a decline in many areas: economy, demographics, worldwide recognition.

From my point of view (I may be wrong), Putin has been trying to regain the lost importance and restore the Russian people’s pride in their country. But the results are sad. It seems that Putin did not succeed in reversing Russia’s structural decline. Russia has today the same GDP as Spain. Its economy suffers from an intense brain drain and its population is experiencing a significant decline with unusually high death rates from nonnatural causes, many related to alcoholism. Life expectancy, especially among working-age males, has dropped significantly. The Russian fertility rate has declined to among the world's lowest, while its abortion rate is the highest.

I hope that the Russian people will succeed in accepting their situation (Russia has lost its status as a superpower) and moving on.

I think that Putin was aware of the sanctions and boycotts before he strikes Ukraine. He must have a plan for future, like he already signed a big commercial treaty with China few months ago about row material and technologies.
Some may think he's dangerous, some may think he's nasty, but nobody can think he's stupid.

I won't swallow scenarios of rebuilding the soviet union.

I wonder what his plan is, I wonder if we must be scared of that too.

I'm still sad for victims on both sides.

My point is to say that if Russia had had a competent leader, the country could have quickly re-emerged as a major economic power by focusing mainly on improving its economic development and enhancing people's standard of living. Yet, apart from making war, Putin hasn't done much since he has been in power.

By making war, maybe Putin wants to divert the Russian people's attention from economic and social issues. But the risk it to bring Russia to the brink of bankruptcy and impoverish further its people.

Do you remember that quote from the former Minister of the Interior just before the Russo-Japanese War started in 1904 : “You don’t know Russia’s internal situation. We need a small victorious war to avert a revolution.” This quote does illustrate the infamous justification of making the war just to hide the stark economic reality...
