I sensed record breaking rage quitting time  after I shot you down on Guadalcanal  ,where you,as per usual ,tried to fly to your mainbase to bail like the yellow bellied coward you are

A good score does not compensate for a poor personality,very clear in your case.

You forgot to say that your kills are totally useless, while your team is bleeding out slowly.

Sitting in the City Ammo house to spawnkill easy victims helps nobody except you. 

Ofc you never try to take the risk to even grey this flag. Too risky and on second you would lose the option for those easy spawnkills.

Your team lost the battle and i knew that 30 minutes before.  : )

You can't still take it to end of a game without beeing on 1st place. Instead you go crazy and ragequit.

The fact is, you have only fun, if you are 1st at the end of the map, it does not matter for you that your team lost.

Or i spawn 4 times at the same own flag, alone, ... me and my Bazooka, in middle of 2-5 tanks i don't care.

Each second i can keep it grey helps to turn the game.

I've been linux distro hopping for a while.  Also been using different VPNS. 

Drauger OS is a linux OS that's solved all my previous bf42 problems.  Smooth as butter and somehow it negates the inherent bf1942 mouse accel that's plagued this game from the very start.  Aiming feels like CSGO raw input and dare I say, reg also improved.  You know those very rare days or moments in bf42, when your reg feels so crisp and easy?  Well it's like that, but all the time!

I've wasted some time and money with a few VPN's.  The ones that worked best for me are pureVPN and cyberghost, the latter being my preference.  It's a bit trial and error with what servers (route) to use, but I've found 2 or 3 with black and white reg difference.  Sometimes bf42 can be so inconsistent with reg, so I setup a windows 7 laptop with bf42, to cross-check every change I made, so I knew it wasn't BF42 playing tricks on me.

I'm no tech guru by any stretch and I can't be bothered to get my magnifying glass out to analyse why all this helps.  It just does.  Anyway, I'll never go back to windows, EVER!  Cheers to !sudo Corax for always being a stud muffin and helping me.

Only downside was a bit of messing around with linux to make it compatible with BF42.

Sadly you read mixed experiences about different Linux Trials for Bf1942

I guess, i would make it, if i would know how. I'm Noob with Linux without a grafic Menu.

Im no expert either, but sometimes one pick up on things. One example when windows 7 came out they put woip (woise over internet) as prio A in the network cache and so gaming packets was somewhere back in the list.

Also Telia did the same when they started pushing out the tv over internet boxes, everything else got low prio, and ofcourse they had too few routers back then to run it all smooth. Lag deluxe for some year/s

So yeah, thinking of this i can belive that a vpn can get a better gaming experience if it can dodge a "bad" ISP routing and packets prio settings.

Hey Butch, I guess firstly let's say thank you for sharing the info.

My question is, why to bother so much? You say "I've wasted some time and money with a few VPN's."

Why is that? You had decent berlin rounds way back before even without using any vpn or whatever. I have been "stuck" with W10 ever since I installed it. Bad regs are also bothering me from time to time, but okay i'll deal with it. Can be pain in the ass sometimes, I'll admit, I also at some point type in chat " these regs are joke" or just smth, but many of us infantries experience that.

I keep hearing " i couldnt care less. I dont bother over this old game, im here just to chill", i think it was also you personally couple of times in the past and then u come with this take.. At some point, we will all leave this game for good..

Hit reg is crazy and seemingly consistent throughout the whole game. Can't remember to have played a single round like that in at least a decade.

So, the lesson of the day to have consistent regs is:

1) Get Linux with the Drauger distro
2) Get a VPN and choose the best route

Awesome. Except most can't be bothered to get a Linux distro just to play BF1942, would an emulator for the Linux distro you use work Butcher?

Nah, that won't workie workie. According to Distrowatch, Drauger (what a name) Linux is based on Xubuntu.

I haven't been able to even get BF1942 running on Ubuntu-based distros, so I think this is a success story that's specific to fellow player butcher.

It probably depends on your hardware configuration too, and maybe he was lucky that he got the right one for it.
