more than 72 slots for *new simple* ?

.

corona is affecting simple and gaming servers worldwide, considerably boosting player numbers. this effect will likely diminish soon, but why not capitalize on it while its here ?

new simple has been full at 72 slots for long times recently, how about setting more than 72 slots ? lag will increase, but i still think it should be tried

i suggest something like 78 or 84 slots

wouldn't it be better to utilize another server with the same map rotation ? if its the maps that ppl are coming for
no extra lag then

I think tuia once said something about the servercontrol program (bfsm) could not handle to many slots without crashing.

Unfortunately, BFServerManager crashes when you reach around 80 players. The players slots will be lowered back to 72. :

Yeah I can really see its helping you to get more free points from spawnkilling. Everybody is tired of your none-skill and camping.
Try to do more.  You even brought spawnkilling to maps like Coral Sea ( plane map ) and Battle of Britain  ( another plane map).
I rarely play Aberedeen, but I wouldnt be surprised if u did the same there too since your tanks and plane skills suck too.
Sorry, I really feel bad for you to not win Stalin and Berlin with real players around for the last month or so...
Even at Philippines u spawnkill and when u dont get a plane at the start to get 30-50+ easy no skill points for taking down Japanese boats/ships u quit so soon.
Btw it was said x days ago, I mentioned laggs with increasing to more slots. At 72 its bad at times...

Temporary.... while all this hype with coronavirus continues and peoples siiting at home... why not to try?
In the evenings there is a large influx of players, have to wait in line..
As Ziba said, we always can brought it back.

This. Now is the time to bring it back.

I was playing yesterday late into the night, and I saw TGE nearly full with 58 players. Quite impressive. I’ve never seen this server so full before, especially not at 2:00 AM.

Umm, I was there like 4 times if not much. I asked something about simple FRA serv and I was warned immediately not to talk about other server, that its in the rules or.. I dont know.

Btw does anyone care about that server in US? I mean the owner or its players. Theres two or more things that annoyed me a bit.
1) bots - i understand when u cant fill the server u want to do anything, but I really cannot imagine having bots on a daily on simple
2)  3 nades on every single map if I remember correctly. Even on map like Berlin, where having nades is I think useless, unless its CTF mode. We all know what we got in Berlin on Simple.

The server admins are the worse there. They will kick/ban anyone better than them.

Wear that ban as a badge. Once in a while, the badge is HONORABLE. False bans, speaks volumes when more than a few are receiving them. Odd thing is so many GOOD folks, honorable players, are banned there. I believe the seasoned folks know the scenario.
So wish Tuia donated the server to another person back then.

Torture Box (112 players max) was THE DOGS BULLOCKS!  I was an admin, so yes, I am biased.  Yes, some players who value "quality over quantity" may not like this, but gameplay was EPIC, and baserape was ALLOWED/ENCOURAGED!  Just a different way to play.  It was the Battlefield 1942 MOSH PIT.  Missing high player limit servers greatly.  I salute Simple for 72 slots.
