After January 14, 2020, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or support for PCs with Windows 7. If you continue to use Windows 7 after support has ended on January 14, 2020, your PC will still work, but it may become more vulnerable to security risks.
What are your plans? Move to Windows 10 (codename spyware) or continue to use Windows 7?
I will use both but primarily Linux.

I too dual boot Linux and Windows 7. I use Windows 7 for games, because Intel graphic card has poor support in Linux, and for some shady software which only runs on Windows.
I am contemplating to upgrade to Windows 10, but the potential performance penalty and all the spyware is holding me back.

We CAN turn off Win 10 telemetry... also we CAN make it smooth, a naked Win10 does best for games.. but it a pain in the butt to keep it that way

This removes a whole heap of garbage:
Hahahahahah
...
You can still change to Windows 10 for free from 7, 8 and 8.1.
Run this Microsoft Tool and between 30 Minutes your Windows 10 is running.

GNU/Linux
we still have a player who uses win xp for playing , and with a custom antivirus win 7 wouldnt be a dead one yet
I was just about to ask. Is anyone here still using Windows XP and is it safe to use it with some Antivirus software installed? Just curious, not planning on installing XP.
...
No, not really save.
If you just play, ok, but i would not go into Internet with a Browser, due no actual one is supporting it.
...
You can use Windows Embedded Standard 7 and get one more year of support.

many old monitoring systems are running on XP because of very low resources its needed , also ATMs are on windows server but the theme on them is windows xp , same as VPS with windows OS.

many current functional browsers for win xp

Windows Xp has more then 1600 Security holes.
Most of those browsers are old and not updated anymore. They just work, because they surround some important security rules to be compatible with XP and some work only because they use an old engine.
Or does a Browser like "Epic Privacy Browser" or "Baidu Spark" sounds safe to you? Who knows....
Some Browsers of your link were updated years ago.

Btw. VLC had also a very critical security issue which is fixed in the new version.

http://www.UBUNTU.com/download (for newbies and lazy people)
Ubuntu is not the best linux version in the world... but it is super nice and easy. U get pre installed browser and office. Plenty of options in the APP STORE (repo's for dummies).
Then if u a gamer AND u have proper hardware:
https://www.winehq.org/ (or get it in the app store)
OR
Enable the beta version in steam, do update, then enable PROTON or WINDOWS GAMES SUPPORT whatever they call it now.
U can play all your windows games in linux with wine and steam. MAYBE u need new nvidia driver to gain some extra speed.
If u play the latest games on old hardware u better stick with windows and buy a new pc u greedy fuck!
For the more advanced user i advise 2 hard drives with dual boot:
2) windows BOOT for when u want to masturbate in your online shooter games
1) linux BOOT when u do adult stuff like business or banking or email or masturbate on your favorite keyboard and pornhub channel, dont do that in windows u silly fuck
(now i said fuck twice, i need to go to the bedroom, i hope she is ready)

I'm currently installed Windows 10 (not activated yet) on a separate drive and doing some testing, and what I do not like was TOO MANY bloat appeared on Start Menu which to me was unnecessary like "Candy Crush", the persistent M$ ads like "Onedrive" cloud storage, and more importantly the Search Bar that ties to Bing despite i'm typing the name of file/s that I have to search it on my local storage yet it gives you online search results!!!
I'm gonna wait Ubuntu 20.04 to be released this April as it completely drop that Amazon Web App thing that holds me back to upgrade from 12.04.

You can deinstall most of them > right mouse > More > etc.
And for those you can't uninstall > there are tools like "O&O Shut up" to deinstall/deactivate them.

The other side is, that it can be you have to make it again when you get a Creators Update.
...
Btw. You need just a unused Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 key to activate Windows 10
You can use them also to download an Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft.

Yeah i saw the same on a friends laptop, however i didn´t get all that "blinking" stuff when i did a update from win7, i cant say for sure, but it might be because i have the enterprice version. It seems logic tho, that they would cut out some of the bling in a working environment version.
Windows 10 LTSB or LTSC
