Hey guys,

I know they weren't back in the day, but are no-CD's legal nowadays? annoying waiting for the CD reader to fire up every time a map loads...

Cheers

Re: BF1942 No-CD

And now the question; is it legal in your country to copy a data cd ?

You started the legal talk, so I reply to it.

If you bought the game, I see no reason why it shouldn't be legal.

In my country, it's illegal to circumvent / break copy protection, even if you own a legal copy, and it's for own personal use.

Re: BF1942 No-CD

officially it is not legal i guess, as long as you dont own an original version

but the most of the active players use any kind of no-cd, no-cd-crack, iso from their cd, whatever
to save their original cd from "damage over time"

Could you please make step-by-step instructions like "no-cd for dummies: do it like this".  What to load, where from and how and where to install?

I´m asking because im no computer genius and i´m a bit worried that i might f*ck up my computer or get into trouble with punkbuster if i download some corrupted file...

Edit:
is this site trustworthy and if which file would be correct?:

Re: BF1942 No-CD

You won't get in trouble.

Just watch this topic: http://team-simple.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=656

If you install Daemon tools, make sure you don't install the other garbage they offer. But if you install it anyway, it is no problem to deinstall it later.

No-CD crack you can get here: www.gamecopyworld.com go to BF1942 section and download this file: BF1942 v1.61b [ENGLISH] No-CD/Fixed Update (4,5 mb)

Just install it and you are ready to go.

Re: BF1942 No-CD

Thanks for the replies guys. Tried the no-cd (not necessarily dary's exact version), which worked but would tell me "Data differs from server" when i tried to join the simple server.

I restored the exe and dll's and have just used a virtual drive, mounting my cd image using CloneCD and it works fine.

Cheers
