The empty spaces are intended to make you harder to shoot at when aiming at the name tag and not the player.. aiming for the name tag would throw off your shots when empty spaces are put in..
youre wrong, read post # 13 ... 10 spaces become one in the in-game nametag
and funny how theres different rules for different players, a guy with the tag

has played on simple fra for 50+ ? hours without getting kicked / banned
yet seconds after i entered the first time with spaces in my name, i get instantly warn / kick / ban assaulted by gun bf gorr
Dead Hand, gorr and i were in the server yesterday after most of this thread was written
i told gorr about the Dead Hand space name, but he didnt do anything about
anoher example of gorr's poor judgment of some rules that he has misunderstood

Adding the same amounts of spaces at the end of your name does not suddenly move it back to the centre again. The name system see's the spaces as characters so you name will move to the right of where you actually are and then adds the extra spaces at the end

adding the spaces before your name is to distract a player who is shooting from a distance. Some snipers and engineers will use your tags to aim at but by adding the spaces it can make you appear that you are just to the right of where you really are, especially on foggy maps.
wrong... you misunderstand ... if you read post # 1 properly, you'll see that i put and equal amount of spaces both before and after the characters, so that the characters are centered. and all tags in bf1942 are surrounded by brackets that don't get unaligned ever if spaces are unaligned
so a tag like
YYY
(10 spaces, 3 Y's, 10 spaces) is as easy to detect / see as any other 3-character tag
and even an unaligned 3-character tag should be allowed
what it comes down to, is that some of the clanner admins on simple fra are dumb powertripping kick/ban-happy ignorants that don't really know the rules (even though they act like they do) and rarely visit this forum ....

Additionally names which can't be addressed by the admins are not allowed.
so according to that, a name like

(10 spaces, 3 y's, 10 spaces) should be allowed ... it's not blank and can be typed easily
because, isn't it very easy to say : hey yyy don't do that, hey yyy don't do this ? i think it is
"player" "fighter" "medic" "pilot" "sniper" etc. seems allowed even though addressing those could be more confusing than yyy
and what about russian / cyrillic tags .... its quite difficult for a non-russian admin to address those

whats the naming policy (if any?) for simple fra ?
i entered the server today with the following tag ....

gun.bf gorr then kicked me, saying the name wasn't a "real" name
i then changed it to :

he kept saying it wasn't a real name .... then i used

but still kicked and an attempted ban by him (he mistyped)
sounded like he was just annoyed by a tag that stood out; repeating characters and spaces, and not really
backed by rules
so i ask again .... is there an official nametag policy for simple fra, or can admins simply subjectively
kick / ban any player for having a "improper" name, as they feel like ?
what is wrong with 9 spaces then 5 capital Y's, then 9 spaces ? it's clearly visible, etc
at times, i prefer to have non ordinary tags. should all tags be left aligned and be "real" names / words

ssk is very bright, so people who are average/somewhat intelligent are still near-retards compared to him
my primary guess is that ssk is alive and well, but deliberately has stopped communicating in his forum, because he is sick of having to listen to/deal with dumb people, which includes both players and his admins
that's why he chose to have few of them for a long time until recently, when complaints increased to a point where the only solution would be more admins
it's impressive that he has managed to be nice and helpful to people for three years, considering all the shit he's been forced to be involved in
his absence is a bit worrying, since he controls both the master and biggest server. if he leaves completely, the bf1942 scene will be hurt a lot

let the guessing game begin .... what’s going on with s[sk]?
according to the ax public forum and some ax admins, s[sk] has had zero text activity since november 8th 2015.
i wonder if anybody have been able to detect human actions originating from him in that period.
i find it odd that he has stopped communicating without informing his admins first.
