If you really read what I posted, you'd notice that the alternative was :

Meow wrote:

*Alternative : Maybe add "low altitude death areas", like on uncap flags in other maps. So that players can't go by foot to those places.

I think you don't understand the measure of what I'm dealing with. So I say it differently, maybe you'll undersand.
If not, you're free to get a dictionnary.
Now, BoB is a map where allies have 6 buildings+1 carrier. In order to win the map, axis team has to destroy the 7 targets.

Problem : Everytime, some axis players bail, in order to kill enemies on the ground. If a ju88 bombs the targets, it commits teamkill. If ju88s don't bomb the targets, axis cannot win.

After 5 teamkills, there is an autokick. After some autokicks, there is a ban.

I don't want to be autokicked. I don't want to be autobanned.
You don't want to be autokicked. You don't want to be autobanned.
Players don't want to be autokicked. Players don't want to be autobanned.
And globally, nobody wants to commit teamkills.

Now if you have a solution about this. Please tell us. I'm open to your wide and lighty experienced opinion.
I try to bring ideas. Answering "no" or answering "play another server/game/whatever" doesn't bring anything to the problem.

Got it or I should redo it a third time ?

Why does everything need to be dumbed down to suit your ideal version of how the map should be played? Isn’t the map modded enough the way it is? It has B17s, carriers and all kinds of vehicles that weren’t included in the original version. Isn’t this enough?

I’ve played this map countless time as Axis and I’ve never had a single issue with team kills. Maybe you should check your minimap more often and learn how the game is played, instead of making demands like an entitled noob. If you don’t want to be autokicked, don’t TK. The best players in this game avoid team killing and do great on this map.

Stupid cunt.

The theoretical maximum number of players on a server is 255. Imagine that on Berlin.

All we need now is a pure infantry server for Berlin/stalin or what it was like in the past.

Yeah I agree, an infantry only server is needed at the moment.

Currently I’m running a server with that many players and an additional 180 bots and while it isn’t the most stable, I’m getting around 40fps in the server console window which is good.

That’s simply impossible. There can’t be more than 255 assigned player IDs.

I think it’s a good idea to keep CTF and CQ separate. However I’m afraid it will split the population of SiMPLE.

You’ve seen new players, where are they coming from? Who are they.

So everything is done from the command line? Fuck that. I'll stick with Win 10 and my spyware

#762 Re: Technical Help » Drauger / Linux OS - Installation and installing Battlefield 1942 » 2021-08-27 03:28:12

The learning curve is pretty big though, with Windows it just works, I don’t need to consult 500 tutorials on how to install a simple program.

#763 Re: Technical Help » Drauger / Linux OS - Installation and installing Battlefield 1942 » 2021-08-27 02:40:55

I’m not well versed in Linux having never used it before, but beyond a smoother gaming experience for BF1942 what are some of the advantages of this OS over say, Win 10?

#764 Re: Videos and Screenshots » High Scores » 2021-08-27 01:32:40

It’s not just the OS, the hardware is also at play here.

#766 Re: BF1942 Discussion » What happened to the AX server » 2021-08-26 15:26:35

There’s already people working on building a backup master server I think.

90% of BF1942 are SIMPLE + BF-League players and they are unlikely to leave even without a master server.

main points

the spike protein appears to be cytotoxic.

the emergence of immune escape variants.

the potential for antibody dependent enhancement.

    the potential for autoimmune disorders.

the narrow design focus of the vaccines.

the fact that alternative treatments are available to both prevent and treat covid.

they are trying to jab everyone, even people who have recovered from covid and do not need the jab.

there are a growing number of severe reactions to the vaccines but this fact gets very little coverage in the press and sometimes it even gets outright censorship.

the potential for long term unknown side effects and the potential impact of this on national security.

my biggest problem with this is there is no public discussions and debate about this stuff. most of media now is just ctrl+c ctrl+v

These are just a bunch of cherry-picked articles with no scientific consensus grouped together to fit the anti-vax narrative.

So, the lesson of the day to have consistent regs is:

1) Get Linux with the Drauger distro
2) Get a VPN and choose the best route

Awesome. Except most can't be bothered to get a Linux distro just to play BF1942, would an emulator for the Linux distro you use work Butcher?

I've been linux distro hopping for a while.  Also been using different VPNS.

Drauger OS is a linux OS that's solved all my previous bf42 problems.  Smooth as butter and somehow it negates the inherent bf1942 mouse accel that's plagued this game from the very start.  Aiming feels like CSGO raw input and dare I say, reg also improved.  You know those very rare days or moments in bf42, when your reg feels so crisp and easy?  Well it's like that, but all the time!

I've wasted some time and money with a few VPN's.  The ones that worked best for me are pureVPN and cyberghost, the latter being my preference.  It's a bit trial and error with what servers (route) to use, but I've found 2 or 3 with black and white reg difference.  Sometimes bf42 can be so inconsistent with reg, so I setup a windows 7 laptop with bf42, to cross-check every change I made, so I knew it wasn't BF42 playing tricks on me.

I'm no tech guru by any stretch and I can't be bothered to get my magnifying glass out to analyse why all this helps.  It just does.  Anyway, I'll never go back to windows, EVER!  Cheers to !sudo Corax for always being a stud muffin and helping me.

Only downside was a bit of messing around with linux to make it compatible with BF42.

Here's a couple of Berlin rounds:

Tell me this isn't night and day difference from my earlier vids?  Just hopping around, smooth as butter.  Aiming is a breeze, but requires some adapting.

A perfect KDR of 7. What a rape fest. I still believe your regs would be better on 1.6 with the current set up you have.

Next September, it will be BF1942's 20th anniversary. I think it is an occasion for EA to promote the game for free as they did in 2012 on Origin. They could also simply put an announcement on their website without providing free copies of the game at all.

So what do you guys think? Will the game be re-released on Origin for free for a limited period of time starting September 2022, or will it simply vanish into obscurity? I'm looking forward to a fresh influx of players, with a portion of them hopefully staying for a few more years.

The last time ive played v1.4 was just a quicktest while i installed the game (i have v1 on cd and had to patch it one patch after the other) so i started a coop game and for some reason used sniper kit (witch i normally suck with) and all of a sudden it was one-shoot - one-kill situation. I didnt think much of that just then, but rather after i had fully updated everything and sniping was way harder again. I dont know what changed, but something was done to the game between patches. An old friend once said that they had nerfed the BAR in some patch "it used to be much more effective" or something like that, but i guess it could be an overall situation depending what class one is used to play as.

edit: found a list of all different patches to the game. i haved toyed with the idea of setting up a server with an earlier version just for curiosity, but would need to know if there is any interest from other players. i doubt there is.
