Was it 1.6 that had different sounds for StG 44, MG42, Browning MG, no.4 rifle, K98, BAR? Or perhaps an older version?
I think it was older version, closer to 1.0 not 1.6.

call the mod bf1942 2.0
It would add new weapons now and then. kinda like the changes Epic games makes to Fortnightwould be great i think
I doubt u can make such a system in this game.It could make server lagy for sure and probably crash him also.
I think this system wouldn't be implemented in game itself. More likely some external program for bf42 that would be synced with some file hosting, to download and update client files for various mods.
Hi, sorry for that. The monitor tool mistakenly treated you as a ban evader.
After Vertigo wrote something about the "anti-terrorist" app, I was wondering if it was somehow about evading bans actually, that's why I mentioned my two connections. In addition I saw your post petr8 (or maybe someone else[?], I don't remember) where you wrote that some IP might be banned from SiMPLE especially the VPN ones.
Anyway thanks again for clarification, I think my case is closed at this point ![]()
The red on the server is for me bad too with ping if 20. Sometimes no regs at all. Ping of 60 is good if the server is quite OK. The craziest Inf back than had a ping of 60. Honan from eyes of wonder.
You mean the red dot that is next to the server icon in the server list? If so, I can totally agree with that as it means server resource usage is really high = low server performance. It was common thing on an old SiMPLE's server with Intel Atom processor. Probably the worst for this server was Battle of Britain map with plenty of added vehicles on server-side. Everyone was literally teleporting forward and backward on this map (at least it looked from my perspective). But I'm certain that on new server with Xeon it is not a problem anymore.
I also agree, that 60 ping is good, but you know... when it is stable, while mine is not (ping sometimes varies from 60 to 400). Sorry to repeat myself again complaining about my internet ![]()
Maybe he is sorry Vertigo?
Yes I miss a bit Omaha map, but afterall no worries here
I switched quickly to BF2 and played Strike at Karkand on inf server ![]()
lol the type of people that get all technical about everything but have so little experience as a player?? hm must be some bots created by tuia
the one and only reason Butcher goes down that fast is because he pressed ctrl and z ..
Ahhh, you've got me poOr h00m4n, I'm b0t *beep*boop* ![]()
But jokes aside, if low experience as player is somehow related to me, I've never consider myself as a pro player, I'm playing to have fun, this is it
My biggest problem is my bad and unstable internet, maybe that's why I can't be seen as a good player for some, because I'm lack of hit regs ![]()
Thank you for the answer ![]()
I'm not sure why this auto-system treated me like "terrorist" or whatever it means, especially when I've never been banned on this server (only kicked few times). Maybe detected different IP? To be honest, I sometimes use my LTE connection when my ADSL is getting absurdly unstable... ![]()
(...)It doesn't look like bugging for me. You can see that you had a hit even though he was on the ground(...)
I guess 000 can kill him because he has a fairly low ping (~14). For me (I have over 60 ping), hitting this player who did kind of prone would be almost impossible. In the past I have had many opportunities to play with lower ping like ~43 or ~27 (on SiMPLE server of course) and most of time I could easily hit other players. So ping really does matter.
I just don't know how you prone that fast. A normal prone looks differently.
I'm not sure if you are talking about the animation speed, or just about hitting prone key in a different way than normal.
But to clear many thing up, I have some thoughts about it below.
Most likely it's a problem with the game engine. Many things are possibly hardcoded at 30fps (like animations, menu transitions, etc.), so exceeding this limit will cause many things to play faster.
How to check this ?
There is one command:
"renderer.extrapolateFrame" - by default it is set to 1 value. If you set this command to 1 the maximum fps will be ~30. While this command is disabled, with "renderer.lockFps" you can go below this value, but not over it.
Hi ![]()
I was just wondering why I was banned yesterday. I tried to connect twice yesterday evening (Central European Time) to the SiMPLE server (while playing Omaha Beach), but both times I got a feedback saying that I am banned ![]()
Today I reconnected to this server (while playing Kursk), and it looks like my ban is removed.
After 66 years, I returned to Wake Island ![]()

Maybe it's because the game uses DX8, so the computer thinks you don't need too much performance for games using that API?
I remember I solved similar problem recently with my new laptop with Windows 10 and also radeon gpu (vega igpu + radeon 5500M).
The steps that I did:
- disabled windows game mode (actually I don't think, that this feature is helpful even with newer titles)
- via Windows 10 settings I tried to force "High performance" option but it didn't worked for me though ![]()
- used dgVoodoo wrapper which finally solved my performance problem (my selected output api was DX12, and thanks to that I was able to get full realtime raytracing and some other fancy-shmancy new API features
)
My dgVoodoo settings:
(General tab)
- Output API: Direct3D 12 (feature level 12.0)
- Adapter(s) to use / enable: All of them
- No other changes
(DirectX tab)
- Videocard: dgVoodoo Virtual 3D Accelerated Card
- VRAM set to 512MB
- Disabled dgVoodoo Watermark
- No other changes
For me dgVoodoo is one of the best tools to fix older games and it helped me a lot make other titles playable such as CMR 2.0, Splinter Cell, NFS Porsche, etc.

Actually, you have alot of screen tearing. When I first watched one of your vids, I thought something was up with my pc.

I think, this is what makes screen tearing in the video.
i use two computers for bf1942. one for playing and one for recording.

the videos that this setup can create aren’t perfect. they have reduced colours and sometimes multi-tearing, i haven’t been able to fix that

2000 FPS... is it really worth getting that high frame rate? I'd rather stick with some typical values actually (especially to get stable frame rate instead of constant fluctuations), and definetely I wouldn't go over 1000.
I've created small table in Excel with FPS and MS. Look especially how MS (frame time) value is changing.

How does one achieve this LSD effect?
Broken lightmaps, I guess.
I remember Singleplayer Demo had this problem, but in the Demo it was due to odd GPU compatibility.
Example from SP Demo:

The buildings aren't rainbow actually, but in this case, they're black.
No, not really.
Storage devices have little to no impact in the loading time in this game, the CPU does mostly.
I have a slightly different point of view on this sentence ![]()
I think impact is indeed doesn't big, but actually noticeable. In my pc i have HDD where loading times are like below 15 seconds, whilst in my laptop where i have M.2 SSD is below 5-6 sec BUT these times are in singleplayer mode. In my opinion in multiplayer, there is a rule "first come, first served". If you join the server first before other players, there is a big chance that map will load super quick for you and you will be limited only by speed of your storage device. On the other hand if you join let's say in the middle of the round with a lot of players, you will notice that you can't join "in an instant" but you have to wait a little, because there is a kind of sync between your client and server.
I've selected "Other one" because I couldn't decide myself if I should choose win 7 or 10 ![]()
I'm using both of them, I mean, win 7 is on pc and 10 is on laptop.
To be honest, I really can't see difference between these systems in BF1942 and the game runs flawessly without any major problems, except lags due to my ugly internet
. I don't even have alt+tab problem on windows 10, but I think, it's because I really care and maintain system what I'm using ![]()
Anyway I agree what you wrote K88 about older systems. I remember I wrote something similar about it:
There is no secret here that games usually work best on the hardware and operating system they were originally developed for
Also, newer systems may not contain those features that were available in older systems or may emulate which can have a negative impact on performance. Additionaly newer hardware like new amd or nvidia gpus can produce some graphics artifacts on older game like this or even not display proper graphics at all. For example, "no crosshair" problem on new amd gpus.
And about problems on the new hardware I also posted some in-game screenshots in this thread:
https://team-simple.org/forum/viewtopic … 32#p161132
Yes axis have veeery big advantage on this map. 2 tanks, 2 defguns, they can spam you with grenades, other explosives etc. etc. It should be better to change it, ie. disable explosives for both of teams and/or disable one axis tank* until allied team take middle flag. Axis even only with top flag can defend pretty well. Of course I know it may be bit hard to do but I think it's pretty doable.
Small edit.
*Maybe it is not possible to dynamically put player control objects on the server, so I think giving long time to spawn for one of the axis tank should also do this job.
Some testing of new temporary network
Unfortunately I still have ugly internet at home, but at this moment I can use something better ![]()

So I think, this is what I've said, it's actually a deeper problem. I bought recently a new laptop with ryzen (vega igpu) + radeon 5500M, and screenshots are also broken on win 10, although they're not completely transparent but broken in other way. Check some screens below:
dGPU Radeon 5500M:
broken 1:
fixed 1:
broken 2:
fixed 2:
Vega iGPU:
broken 1:
fixed 1:
broken 2:
fixed 2:
On dedicated gpu you can clearly spot the difference, on the other hand on integrated gpu you may not be able to see it at first glance, although on broken screenshots some elements like HUD are slighty brighter, so that means, they're a bit transparent.
Problem with PB screenshots is nothing new, it's been discussed on many forums about different games like BF2, BF3, BF4, COD, America's Army etc etc. and usually it can be problem with the system version, drivers or other anomalies that can be hard to find or guess. Black PB screenshots were first considered as method of cheaters who wanted to hide theirs *secrets*
Although as I mentioned above it turns out, that it is not actually cheaters case but deeper problem.
I have a bit different problem on Win 7, where my .tga screenshot is fully transparent, although this problem is easy to fix, thanks to nice tool from microsoft called texconv
Texture Tool
So maybe you should play a bit with this tool and you may be able to fix this case also ![]()
Well, from my perspective, low ping can be really forgiving when it comes to bad aim, although I'm not really talking about 000 aiming skill. I've seen many times when completely unexperienced players, albeit with low ping, could kill me by doing the simplest "pray and spray", even when I tried my best to avoid being hit. On the other hand, when I want to hit someone I have to aim far ahead while the object is moving, or when it is standing still, I literally lose half of my ammo to see blind shots first and then finally the hit register ![]()
As some of you know, I worked in the medical field and I volunteered for the vaccine trials for Covid-19 at UCLA last week. The drug is apparently made by a Russian Pharmaceutical company. Idk why, but this text reminds me one of dota 2 reviews on steam

I think ~255 score bug is most likely client-side problem, not the server (host). I remember I had same problems in the past, and to be 100% sure I did a quick test today, to check if I will be able to recreate this case. So here are some screenshots below:
Client has 312 score but it shows only 254
On the other hand, Host correctly shows 312 points, so no problem here
External server browser shows correct value like Host do
New client, who joined in the middle of the round, can't see player on the scoreboard with bugged score at all(!), no matter if it would be score of the Host or Client
Axis team must have had a lot of fun on Omaha Beach yesterday ![]()

"Teambalance.exe" has stopped working ...
Most likely, when you want to connect to the SiMPLE server, it may be under attack during this time.
This is a problem that BF1942 servers have been facing for some time.
If you have win 7, try this: https://www.top-password.com/knowledge/ … sword.html
Since you've got access to aX server henk, it is you who added new discord link server message ? It was the first time today when i saw it actually. Otherwise, it could be this aX admin i guess.

ive done some testing and benchmarks, comparing bf1942 framerates on this system, using windows xp, vista, 7, 8.1, 10, with same version drivers. xp had around 60 % faster framerates, than vista, 7, 8.1, 10
bf1942 was developed from around 1998 - 2004 for windows 98, me, 2000, xp, and seemingly just runs faster under those, than later windows

so ..... now yall might think that ive been in hit-registration paradise for four years ..... not really. the game runs smoothly 99 % of the time, and i virtually never get freezes or stuttering. but, ive only had what i would call “good” hitregs less than 5 % of the time, the rest has been a mixed experience with bad or medium regs
But still, with your one of the lowest ping on the server, you still have a better chance to hit someone than player with the higher one.
