Is this guy for real? Jesus Christ man.
I don't get it?
Up to 50 players on a very good day. It's still alive!
For those of you who would like to try it, I am hosting a 64 man Conquest and Pure server on the Battlefield 1942 Secret Weapons of WWII Demo.
Anyone that wishes to come play is more than welcome! I think many on these forums have never tried the Hellendoorn map, and it has many new exciting vehicles and combat situations.
You can download the demo here.

Server information below.
Name: SW Demo Central
IP: 96.23.85.144
Port: 14567
Server should be up throughout the evening and night. Waiting for you guys to hop in!
Looks like the police station here. Why all this fuss over my name? Am I guilty of something? Hmmm.
Lucky Luke et Sommarel: Connectez-vous sur Xfire si vous en avez un!
Sinon comment peut-on vous contacter?
If i recall we played on fungen's aberdeen server together many times, where you were less then "most impressive", you were ok, but i d own you anytime
, especially timmos, he d play with you like cat with poor mouse ;(
I never played on that server, I think you have me mistaken for someone else.
Sommarel do you have Xfire?
i guess hes evading bans, so that means? ^^ because no one ever deleted him from the banlist
I think you and I should 1v1 @ tanks. Xfire is wickedarsonist. This weekend.
Tanks or infantry. Put your money where your mouth is ![]()

u cant u fool, ur banned
I'm not, I went on the server this morning. Nice try ![]()
Give me one or two weeks and I will single handedly demolish the hardest vets on SiMPLE
Anything above 150 is pointless for me IMO, you must have iron nerves to do this.
Thank you. In-game sound means bigger raw AVI files recorded with Fraps, that's why I don't record it.
The Observer wrote:Thanks guys. CD version of video coming soon.
And how many CDs could you sell?
Aha, good one. I meant a non-Origin video.
Thanks guys. CD version of video coming soon.
The Observer wrote:Any thoughts on the video?
It´s on origin, so the skilllevel is really low. Buy this damn game for 10 USD and play on simple. Pwn the clanplayers and everyone love you
One server was MoonGamers Origin, so there were a few vets there. If you look carefully you can spot a few infantry strafing and being a challenge to me. But yes, most players were clueless.
I will buy the full game soon, and make another montage there. I'd like some input on my aim and gameplay, any insight?
Any thoughts on the video?
Just me being a public hero on Origin servers. A few actions recorded over 11 minutes. It's mostly infantry with a few tank actions at the beginning.
Watch and enjoy...
Says the kid who wants someone to program an automatic downloader into the game. LOL!
The kid? With the kind of posts you make here, it's obvious you don't even have half your physical age mentally. Go back to the sandbox.
Anyways, if you had any form of common sense, you would know that EA laughs at what it's community wants, especially for a game that is a decade old. You think making some ridiculous poll to release the XPacks on some social media site is going to change anything? Come on now. If they release the XPacks via Origin it will not be after having consulted the player base for their opinion, if they even release them at all!
You should know that the modders and developers of Battlefield 1942 tried to make a petition aimed directly at EA/Dice to release an official SDK (Source Development Kit) for the game, and nothing happened. So as I said, good luck getting that to work.
Yeah, good luck getting that to work -.-
During the last two years or so at lot of innovations have been implemented into the Battlefield 1942 engine...
We've had an extended player limit, various server crash fixes and now a custom resolution fix that has just been released.
Now I don't know about you guys, but I think implementing an automatic server-to-client download facility would be fantastic.
Think about it! No more manual downloads of maps! Everything is done automatically for you when you join the server, amazing no?
This fix would be very handy for community-oriented map packs. Players would simply join the server and the necessary maps would be installed directly into their ''levels'' folder.
This could probably be fixed to allow some mini-mods, such as simple texture conversions or added meshes and stuff like that to be installed automatically. Eventually, full size mods could be supported (not exceeding 100 - 150 MB). Huge full conversion mods will be manually downloaded of course.
I think the potential for this little addition is present in the community. It is probably a huge undertaking, but I know it is far from impossible.
What do you guys think?
Kobra wrote:u guys think it would be possible to enlarge the view distance, server-side?
I think you can remove some of the fog, increase the view distance, server-side, by changing some values in the map's Init.con file. Not sure, never tried.
Any graphical change will not be supported server side if If I'm not mistaken...
Hey Minnesota,
There is a link to download the New Maps, but that link is dead. We'll have to create a new custom installer and select less maps, so it's not a big 600 MB download. Do you have any suggestions for the maps to remove or add?
Here is the actual list:
Battle for Guam
Battle for Korsun
Battle of Hurtgen Forest
Cherbourg
Dukla Pass
Faid Pass
Giza
Hells Highway
Kasserine Pass
Murmansk
North Sea Docks
Operation Forager
Ramelle
Reichsbahn
Remagen
SaintSauveur
Schneeman
The Great Pursuit
Tigerpass
UN Ihantala
Warschau
600 MB is astronomically big. You should make it a third of the size at least.
Salut
Funny thing is, this video was filmed in our demo. Time to install the game and give it a spin guys!
Well I think it is pointless to make a new server in full BF1942 if that's what you're asking. The big name servers are already there and a new server cannot shift their clientele to my server.
Instead, I want to start a new server in a smaller game. It is more realistic I think, and more people should bite.
Anything constructive?
Hello guys,
As you know I am building a website about the Battlefield 1942 Secret Weapons of WWII Demo.
The site will be complete with A to Z information about the game.
On top of that, it will have a live server query page similar to BFTracks.net's, where you can view which servers are online.
The website will have a server unique to it as well. I have kindly asked tuia if he would be interested in hosting a server for me, from SiMPLE, as I cannot do it myself due to an insufficient upstream bandwidth. The server will be hosted in the Battlefield 1942 Secret Weapons of WWII Demo.
If there are some financial contributions to be made for the server, I would also bring some aid.
The reason why I asked tuia is because of the now huge notoriety of the SiMPLE servers, which have an enormous clientele which competes fiercely with MoonGamers. I am willing to give this a test run of about a month. When the server goes live, there will be a special introductory night where all can join and experiment the map.
I think many on those forums don't have the SW expansion pack and would be thrilled of trying the Hellendoorn map. Plus it's free, since it's a demo. We will see how many players the server can attract when it is live. If there is a lack of interest then there is no need to keep it live. But I think this should work pretty well, given that SiMPLE has a faithful player base.
At the moment I am writing this message, tuia should be fixing the Linux files for the SW Demo, which runs on v1.45 of the Battlefield 1942 engine.
I am willing to link your website on mine and advertise for it as well if the head admins of SiMPLE are willing to make a mutual alliance with me. This mutual alliance would include beneficial help from my community or yours to either communities for server hosting, special events such as tournaments, cups, and mod testing as well.
Tell me what you think!
