Thanks! Yeah I never thought about encoding the sound separately but that makes sense. There is sound in the video that I put as a background/intro, but there are a couple of glithcy chirp sounds. I guess encoding separately would make it cleaner. It's good enough for me as it is though.

I changed my main menu background video recently. It wasn't difficult but the hardest thing was finding an MP4 to Bik converter. I found one online that worked. I didn't have a video in mind to use though so I used a stock video of a zen waterfall just as a test and haven't changed it yet. So now when I start BF42 I'm taken to a peaceful forest scene with water flowing and birds chirping - not so appropriate!

I found the audio is buggy though.

It's brilliantly simple yet perfectly descriptive.  Who was it directed at?  I do not know.

Another noteworthy insult is this gem:

"You are a target rich environment for stupid commentary."

I have been largely disappointed with the quality of insults being levelled throughout this thread - mostly cynical puns.  If this thread does continue, (why stop now at a mere 97 posts?) then I hope a greater level of creativity will be shown.

The only problem with a lighter map is seeing coordinates; E5, F7, etc.

If you're talking to the admins, perhaps someone is team killing you (TKing), then use "K" so that every player can see.

But, if you're talking about game tactics, for example: "I'm at E6 but I have 1% health," then use "L"; you don't want the enemy to know what you're doing, right?

When you accidentally TK someone (TK = team kill), then you should type "Sorry" or "Sorry TK", in the team chat.

If someone accidentally TK's you (and they don't usually TK) then you can hit this key "~" (that's not an emoji, it's the "tilde" key). 
The ~ key opens the console.  In the console you can type "ftk" (forgive team kill), this means there is no time or kick penalty for that player.

On the other hand, if you are TK'ed by someone, and you think it was deliberate, or careless, then you might want to type "ptk" (punish team kill).  PTK gives that player a time penalty; it will take longer for them to spawn.

Also, "N" changes the magnification of your map.  This is useful to see where your team mates are, and whether you should throw a grenade, or drop a bomb.
