Question regarding the gamespy fix bf1942.exe you released

Hello,
I have recently rented a vds and my goal is to run my mini-mod HTroop on it.  Even though HTroop works just fine over a LAN, when I run a dedicated server from my recently rented vds (using your 1.61 bf1942.exe gamespy fix & your 1.61 dedicated server exe), for some reason, my mod's maps crash the game's dedicated server.  They connect just fine; they load almost all the way, then crash the server.  The bflog file says that I am missing contentcrc32.con files for all the mods.  Does your exe file limit the number of maps that will work over a dedicated server, unless contentcrc32.con files are created specifically for said mods?

If that is not the problem, I don't know what is.  If you have any suggestions, please help.

Thank You,

Joshua

Can you even run a server on a VDS would be my first question?
I would not pay to much attention to the bflog it is more likely that you have a fault with your map file that is causing the crash, something your local file has that the server does not.

You can either build all the checksums for each map manually, or just turn off contentchecking. If you go the route to fix the checksums, then you have to use the contentcheck2 (limits to map checking), as you cant make checksums for the other files in custom mods.

You can start a dedicated bf42server on your own pc in internetmode, then start your game and connect with ip and port manually. If that works then there is some setting wrong in your (im assuming you mean vps) server.

Professor_Smith, I don't believe it is a problem with the BF1942_w32ded.exe patched file. I recommend you first test your mod in a local server, your home computer, with the original and then with the patched BF1942_w32ded.exe file to rule out any problem with the patches. Then, proceed to reinstall the BF1942 server and your mod files in your Windows server.

I have used tuia´s serverfiles without problem, but i only run vanilla bf42. I think i have seen there was some problems with the desert combat mod and the origin version of the game or if it was forgotten hope, not sure.
