New player looking for direction

Hey guys!

Back in the day I played the absolute crap outta BF1942 and would like to get back into it for some good old fun. I came across the server in the gametraker.com listing. I was wondering if anyone could give me some direction on how to get the game loading and running for Windows 10. Do I need to go out and find a copy of the game with a valid CD-Key still?

No just DL RetailVersion and write some digits, by using the programm "Battlefield 1942_Code.exe" from "...Battlefield 1942\eReg" Folder.

And Dl and install the After Gamespy Patch here.  http://team-simple.org/download/

When done, make sure, Bf1942.exe and blackscreen.exe are running as Administrator and compatibility mode.
