And I use this command: screen ./start.sh +statusMonitor 1

Next I have this message about linked binary: ./start.sh: using statically linked binary

I might not be able to get to this until the weekend but having been through the entire process myself I should be able to help you, why is this server so important to you if you don't mind me asking Simple and other servers seem to be enough for the entire population of players actually playing this game still?
I will have a look how mine is setup and post or send you some ideas

I can't connect with this version... I haven't got this server in server list...
My Origin version is 1.6.20.0

I installed 1.6.12 client...
And I haven't got my server in server list, and I can connect with Add Server...
What I must do?

add this in your linux servers host file

94.23.196.155 master.gamespy.com

edit: may have to reboot the server for it to take affect, i cant remember for sure.

Just of curiosity i tried starting my server directly from the static file, and it does start, also it it shows up in TOP as a running process, so i think im done in this thread now.

I "cheat" a little by using Gnome, its probably a sacrilege for all "true" linux nerds out there, but for me it saves a lot of time (and troubble)
