Logitech keyboard problem

Has anyone heard of this problem?  I have a Logitech K740 illuminated keyboard, and recently I've been having an intermittent problem with some of the keys not working.  It happens randomly, and when it happens it's always the same group of keys that stop working at the same time.  It's about 5-8 keys, including R, T, Z, and Backspace, among others, but always the same group of keys around different areas of the keyboard.  When it happens all I can do is keep hitting the keys until they start working again, but nothing seems consistent about them starting to work again.

I don't need any keyboard recommendations, thanks, because I still have more than two years left on my warranty, but is this a known problem?  If so, is it hardware or software?

Re: Logitech keyboard problem

Could be shorting, could be cracked traces, could be the flat flex connector coming loose. You'd have to take it apart or do a warranty return.

Re: Logitech keyboard problem

That's what I was kind of thinking.  Just wanted to make sure it wasn't some driver issue.  I got it as a gift last year, and just realized today that it has a three-year warranty, so I'll get in touch with Logitech.

K740 isn't a nKeyRollover Keyboard. It means some Combinations are not working. (Same with most normal Keyboards.)

Example > „W + Shift + Space" isn't working. http://support.logitech.com/de_at/artic … 0069ufjAAA

Logitech Support is writing about those things.

Next time, when you buy a keyboard, Don't look first on the flashing lights... look for a n-Key Rollover Keyboard or just buy one with mechanic "blue" or "brown" switches and PS2, (if you have a PC with with an PS2 connector, but those KB have also a PS2 > USB Adapter, but with USB the Keyboards NKeyRollover is restricted to 6-8 (or 12) keys together. With PS2 you can press all keys and all beeing recognised correct.)

Here you can make a test. Press all keys you want, and then you see, if they have contact or not.

http://www.gigahype.com/nkey-rollover-test-page/

If i lay my arm to my keyboard, all keys are shown.

If you want to make it right, allways use Shift also for the Test.

To verifie it the hard way, use both Shiftkeys and then write a phrase to Notepad. With a Non NkeyRollover Keyboard, some letters will not be writen.

Re: Logitech keyboard problem

I have something a bit the same but quite diffrent; once in a couple of weeks while playing my buttons start working very weirdly (Logitech G510 btw) like I start to crouch but can't get up, I try to chat but all what comes in the chat bar is BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB.
I press esc but that closes the entire game.
I try googling it but instead of letters appearing I open new tabs, add bookmarks against my will etc... can only be solved by restarting PC.

What appead to be the fucking problem? The goddamn mouse! Logitech G600! This does not only happen at BF it happens whenever I start up any game, this used to happen every day but after installing Windows 10 it's only very rare, before that I had to start up my PC with the mouse unplugged to prevent it EVERY day.
I did go back to the store and tried to explain and they were like screw it here's a new one (this thing was 80Euro's), it did give me a new fresh mouse but didn't solve the problem.

Logitech has also some issues with some games. As example F.e.a.r. By disabling all "HID-Compliant Device" (from da Keyboard) in Device Manager it disappears. Try it once out. But with disabled HCD, additional Buttons are not anymore working, (volume etc).
