Re: StarTrek

Fucking Justin Lin man, nothing but absolute hack films in the vainest of genres (F&F)
can you actually believe they considered this guy briefly to direct live action Akira?
Ill accept nothing less than a dream team of Nolan and Cameron, maybe George Miller working together along with creators or fans / experts who know the film since its release, w/ a mainly Japanese back cast, a main cast mix of all Japanese and Amero Japanese actors, and a few non asian actors for some key characters
now i'm thinking skip ST3, not even worth getting stoned and seeing in 3-d IMAX,
I didn't want them to rush and bring Khan right back for 3,
but if they and Paramount are smart, they will for ST4 and do JJverse return / Wrath of Khan since space seed was the first for the series for this it can be 2nd film and then the loop back and close of WOK as ST4, they just really can't copy WOK again like they did for Into Darkness, but come up with something totally original to do with him,
but I would be totally cool with the final showdown to the death being between two ships fighting with similar damage and disadvantages like in the Mutara Nebula, I mean can you imagine Horner's soundtrack theme from WOK for that scene rebooted by Michael Giacchino with like intense opera n shit? aweeeeesommmme
I know they overdid playing it safe in part 2 and copying original series 2nd film,
but there's just some classic stuff you should utilize like that to help save what was a dying genre and is at risk of mainstream death again, seems they overdo what's obvious on top of using a similar earlier story as the basis in a hurry,
and try to replicate things they can't such as "Always have been and always shall be your friend" radiation room scene

America is capitalized. It should be easy to remember, as we are capitalist and we will own your country.

Talk about variation in diet:
"Hey, let's take meat and cheese and fold it in a tortilla!" = taco

"Hey, let's take meat and cheese and put it in a bowl shaped tortilla!" = taco salad

"Hey, let's take meat and cheese and wrap it in a tortilla!" = burrito

"Hey, let's take meat and cheese and wrap it in a tortilla, and then deep fry it!" = chimichanga

Re: StarTrek

...

I can't stand this 3D hype. The only film which was good in 3D was Avatar.

I saw Star Trek before some days. The film was good but this 3D makes me sic. All is focussed in the center and to the persons who are talking, that all beside and behind them is totally unsharp. Even if the opponent is only 1 meter away. This is unrealistic and tiring.

I want to look around in a movie. I want to see details around too.

Normally the films are also showed in 2D on some days. But this one was the first they played only in 3D.

Perhaps IMAX is different, but 3D in ouer cinemas sux, except Avatar.

...

I concur.  There were some really cool things in 3D, but overall, I think it will be another decade or so before I try again.

As for the movie, letting it gel in the noggin overnight, yeah, it was pretty good.  Cool plot. Kinda ties things together.

The picture Spock looks at in the end of Shatner/Nimoy et al was a little camp.
