I played my fair share of CTF in the past and these were two of my favourites. You'd have to try it out but I think they could do well even with +60 players.

Ok, and what are your ideas for those maps? In El Alamein how many planes, tanks, jeeps on each side? Any other special mod, like faster jeeps? Disable exppacks?
I'd like to read your suggestions for Berlin CTF mod. Any tanks? Grenades disabled? I also think it can be a fun map with lots of players.

El Alamein, then you should talk to the former BoH guys. they had an awesome mod for CTF el ala, with all kind of planes + turbo jeeps

One baserape/basecamp map is more than enough.
Besides, there are only very few who actually try to capture the flag.
80-90% is just busy raping, camping or going for all flags except the flag

that's why I suggested these two maps and not Wake or Kharkov for example which are nice too but prone to heavy baserape.

as others said, for El Alamein try to get the Moongamers mod with turbo jeeps. but it's not necessary. if you just add a bunch of planes and aa's it will do just fine.
for Berlin you can simply remove explosives and add a bunch of jeeps. that should make it nice.

Can't promise you when it's ready and if it will be. When I have some free time I will try to mod those maps, it shouldn't be hard to do it.

Beware u don't mod too much because players will drop and definately when u set CTF instead of conquest.
Most players prefer normal conquest and when it's ctf, like on Guadal, only a few are playing for the flags.
The majority doesn't mind going for the flag and just basecamp/baserape and or go for the normal flags.

Assi is right, i wouldn't mod too much. El Ala ctf is pretty boring imo with all those turbo jeeps and stuff...

nah, keep el alamein conquest.. thats for sure, but maybe set a new server for cq only.. el ala cq is awsome! dont ruin that

hmm i'm pretty surprised by the negative responses. the mod was very popular and Moongamers are still running a similar (but worse) version of it. you really can't compare it to ctf Guadal which is a terrible map for ctf because it's too hard to steal and discourages people to go for flag. the turbo jeeps on el alamein guarantee people going for flags and also help prevent tanks camping runways or main bases.

just keep the regular simple server conquest, and all maps.. make a different server for ctf, that will be the best imo

What ever you do with el al, please keep all those aircrafts because it is very nice map for flying and maybe it could be much better ctf than guadalcanal with added turbojeeps

I forgot to change that in El Alamein CTF. Thanks for reminding. You can exppack the flags, but you will waste your exppacks.

or an admin command for example: !ctf = "use right or left click for jeep turbo"

played this saturday night, and el ala was stil conquest, hope to try it in ctf and turbo-jeeps, tried that jeeps long ago on netorn server, it was fun

Good idea, Ramjet. I guess an admin command will be better suited than a constant server message, as turbo jeeps are only used in El Alamein CTF map.
