modding section

bfmods seems to be dead... are there a large number of modders here? it could be a pretty constructive subforum, plus i do have some questions (ie, how to get bc '42 to stop talking about a wgl swap extension and actually work)

Re: modding section

I agree. BFMods has been overrun by bots and the mods just don't give a crap. BFMods can be used as a reference as all the useful tutorials about SSM / CSM modding are there. One just needs to use the Search function on that site to find what they need.

There is a map mod part but maybe its not open to public? http://team-simple.org/forum/viewforum.php?id=30

About bc '42 it use openGL, dunno what gear you use but intel dropped there support for openGL in there Graphic drivers some years ago. At that time most laptops had intel Graphic so those modding with laptops was pretty screwed. I dont know how it is nowadays if they support openGL or not.

Are you a modder and if so have been modding for a long time? Any special project?

it seems to be private; intel is definitely my problem, this machine was acquired under unique circumstances.

i've modded, coded, mapped, textured, sprited (i hate pixel art but drawing is great,) modeled, created some audio, etc, have never finished or released anything, because i lost interest in all projects (i do not regret cancelling any of them, in part due to the engines i had made the mistake of trying, despite many, many forewarnings...)

my big problem is finding resources to teach me to use tools and such

Partially true, but also true is how easy it is to get back into the game.  Simple seems to have done it well, but it was a bit of "installcraft" if you haven't played in a while.  Especially mixing origin and discs, etc.
