rocket-propelled grenade vs. rocket-propelled projectile with warhead

are they the same thing? i have yet to understand the meaning of grenade outside the context of hand grenades, very little literature covers this topic. is it simply another word for "bomb", the way, maybe, the british could refer to these as "bombs with rocket motors" (i think they called the warhead on the piat a bomb?)

The rifle grenade does not use rocket propulsion of course...it uses the gas from a blank round.  A RPG IS a rocket propelled grenade with a shaped charge warhead.

Re: rocket-propelled grenade vs. rocket-propelled projectile with warhead

but what makes a rocket-propelled grenade different from the projectile that the m72 (law) fires? if wikipedia is to be believed, (as if,) rpg is just the russian name - is this so?
