What the funk? This thread starts to result in some dick measuring contest :s

Using the original CDs since 2002.
started in 2009, my first servers were in 1.6 plats house of love and bihnet, around 2010 i started playing on 1.61 czbfnet and on simple
Nice topic. I tried the demo for the first time around 2004... then in 2010 i tried the multiplayer demo and there was still online servers with 32players... i played on demo wake map about 100 times then i bought the full game.

Haha I appreciate it bro thanks :-)
I tried changing back to Blind Eddy, but most people now know me only as seventy :-(
And glad to see you're on the forum too, I didn't notice!
ask tuia to put it into server announcements
"Download punkbuster! (and btw, Blind Eddy is seventy)"
October 15, 2002.
I know this date very exactly, because i was very very very very drunk that day.

i started with 1.3 i think in 2003. played 2 years or something and then stopped playing any shooter games. At the beginning of 2012 i played just for fun on my laptop and now on a computer.
Well... i started to play this game since demo came out.
When the game came out, i didnt had money for it, so... i downloaded and i played in several cracked servers... until my father gave me the game at my birthday!
So... i play this game since 20-12-2002.
In Portugal, playing online, was very limited...
At that time, my ISP, in terms of international limits was at 512mb, and after a while was 1gb..., so, by this i only played in portuguese servers...
By the end of 2003, i started to play outside Portugal...
Only other games were more active, like medal of honor, call of duty, quake, unreal and ofc, counter strike...
The Battlefield only took off in Portugal with battlefield vietnam came out, and after a while BF2...
Nowdays BF is well known... but not BF42...
Even after 10 years, for me, there's no game like this one... This game is just dated in terms of graphics, because the rest, owns any new game...
Ofc, and i thanks to Pyro for that, when i joined pas42, 2007, i saw the game in a way that i've never saw...even tho 5 years had pass...
What makes me go on in here (BF world), is the comunity... here or at bf league or else where...
I've got to know many people and that the best part...
Ofc, making friends, i had also to make "non friends!", but to those, i have to say thanks...
What makes me sad, i to see many people to leave this game...
Ofc, real life is real life... but plz... exemple... my wife said to me once: "chose me or the game!" and i said to her: "im gona miss you!" ( It was a one day crisis we got married anyway!)
So... to firends.. and non friends (my pernonal fans!) i just say...
THANKS for making this game still going on... (like frenemy says... "Battlefield still a serious thing")
lol nomax, i think idd say to my wife same xD gj
i started around autumn 2006, 1.6 patch (did not even know that v1.61 was existing) ,
spent 2 years on public servers and public teams like 5kings
then in 2008, i played a capture-the-flag cup with a noname team, and it became the best tournement i ever played
we kicked out some of the best teams at that time, GUN, dac, Speerspitze...
to bad there was a loser bracket, which was dominated by pas42, they had lost their first match vs GUN
and we had to face pas42 in the final... it was a total massacre, we lost 1-14
after that cup my team was dissolved (but not due to the result), and i joined pas42, thanks to red_dragon and FragZek
within the next 9 mounths, most of the known pas42-players joined the team (Heiner, Joe, TripleX, DMYorky, fishbone, Strik0r, co0nic, etc)
and the following 2-3 years were just awesome...
i will stop now, although i could tell forever
dont want to bore you
Some day in april 2005 and a friend of me that sometimes plays on this account 2003.
Stopped a loooooong time since 2006 until a few months ago.
Starting playing around 2007.........bought the game .......10 mins offline and then directly online......i was the greatest noob on all serveres for a long time.
After many frustrations with other players, who dont respect any rules, i was searching for a well administered server because i dont like unfair play at all. So i came to the [CC] Server And Clan and there i played just until they stop the BF1942 Server in 2011. Then i played a lot of time on a russian server(i didnt remember his name) after all i found the Simple server and i feel very good because most of the players are fair, and it is well administrated.
btw i never played a clan match . All my knowledge i got from playing on Public servers. That´s why i am sometimes play like a newbie ;-)
October 2003.
tuia wrote:What about you seventy?
I started playing at the end of 2002 and have been playing ever since, which I think is very crazy. I don't wanna know how many hours of my life I have wasted just for waiting to spawn :-)
I played on some of the same servers as you, but my old nick was "Blind Eddy"; don't know if you remember or not.
Anyway, very interesting stories so far! Thanks for the input guys.

PM sent, mate.
Started playing Battlefield 1942 since 2003, but interest waned when new BF series was released back then (i.e. BF:V & BF2).
Old thread but I started with the demo, 2002 i think.
Before that, Return To Castle Wolfenstein.
Before that Unreal.
BladeRunner
It was about 2003-2004 year, when i tryed to play in this game for the first time. I had very weak PC, and becouse of it, game lag and freeze a lot. I even have no internet connection then... But i managed to see different kinds of vechicles and weapons, a lot of interesting maps, and its impressed me so much.
I thought "Damn, so pitty my PC too weak... It would be awesome to play in this game with real persons. I hope, one day, when i become very very rich and i will have very very mighty PC i can to play in it"

I stood in line at BestBuy when it came out and me and computer-in-law bought it for $49.99 each and sat at Starbucks to read the instructions. Many many many
late night lan parties and modded maps (he is now a software engineer on contract with Microsoft).....good excuse for playing late with family and not getting
in trouble at the nightclubs!
Old thread but I started with the demo, 2002 i think.
Before that, Ms. PacMan and Commander Keene
Before that Pong:beer:
BladeRunner
Nice......
LoL Monkey
Don't forget Asteroids
and centepide!!!!!
Since 2007, I have managed never really to leave this game because it's fucking good to kick the veterans'ass !
My oldest son gave me the game in 2011. I played single player for a year and got bored. Oldest son convinced me to try online. I became addicted the first night. I got my ass handed to me every single game. Played until just about the crack of dawn that first time online, went to work, passed out right after dinner the next evening. That makes me the TRUE Newbie here I guess.......
Oh and Monky and Blade, I remember Pong VERY well too...... *sighs*
Played a demo map that was released on one of those freebie disks you used to get with PC magazines, I think it was Wake, this was about 8 months before the official release in 2002. Got the full game on release day been playing ever since, with occasional breaks and prior to that it was SOF and Wolfenstien.
Sounds about like me Dink. Since the demo, hit the game the day it hit the stores
