Why the high ping all of a sudden? (Im not alone)

Since the last couple of weeks me and several others have seen our ping increase from 30-60 and now mine is usually around 90-100. Using tracert I found out that its probably a crappy router in France, but I dont know if u can do anything about it....

That router problem will probably be fixed.
Check tihs website for current status of OVH network: http://status.ovh.com/. They are doing maintenance of the whole network: http://status.ovh.com/?project=9&status=all&perpage=50

just to add one more question, i sometimes experiance jumping ping (yesterday last time between 17:00-18:30 CET) jumping from 40 to 100. is it because of same reason, router maintenance?

Yes, most probably is a router problem. Unless, it's on your side. To clear any doubts, try to see if your ping is stable in other BF1942 servers.

I've tried other servers, they work fine and I have the pings I usually have, for instance the nbn-servers, fg-servers and of course all the clan-servers.

And yea, this isnt first time I encountered a "router" problem. Since 2-3 weeks back I've gone from 30 to 100 ping.. But however I noticed tonight that I started with 100 ping down to 80-60-50-30 throughout the game. The later it got, the less players were on, the more it went down...

It wouldnt matter much, but BF is unlike ANY fps game when it comes to lag... I'll say that atleast.

my ping on SiMPLE has been 17 the last six months .... i haven't seen it rise above that for one single second

Seems the problem is solved since yesterday Now my ping is around 30!
