bf1942 has such a small player-base left, don't try to make it smaller.

This is an invitation to a christmas EVENT, he's not trying to steal your members.
If you are so fragile as to think your community will fall apart for 1 single MOD EVENT, then it's not the event that's the problem...

Whoa. Just whoa.

I've said to myself I would never ever return to these forums again, but I just HAVE to reply to this stuff (BB)DinkW is saying here.

The remaining Battlefield 1942 communities should help eachother, but there are still a lot of rotten apples out there. Take the reactions in this topic as an example. If we don't want more people to run away from BF1942, this is NOT the way to act.

On is82.com we allow a lot of other communities to advertise their events or news. We HELP eachother. Just because we want to have FUN with eachother. But this way that fun just starts to get spoiled. Thanks.

Just join the event or don't. Refrain from giving us such remarks. It's about Christmas for goodness' sake. Be nice.

Dink, n1 respect you give to people around you. Seriously n1. You have never played any of the bf1942 mods? cant believe that.

Feel free to "advertise" on is82.com.

They are allowed to post and "advertise", it is not against the rules. Or feel free to propose a rule change here that "advertising" (bf1942 mods are open source btw) is not allowed here.

(in the past several bf communities had such rule)

If you don't care simply just dont post anything here, but with this behaviour you make yourself look.. well you know.

i also belong to this community, and i know what they are doing. The knowledge and effort they put into this game cannot be measured. It is another side of the bf1942 scene, just consider it like Forgotten hope, DC or anything like that.
You would be happy to know what they know.

With those sentences youve just written, then mamba's mod, GC mod etc aren't welcome here as well.

After reading in a different forum post where Tuia himself suggested to another member that advertising on other peoples web pages was really not on I assumed, it would appear incorrectly now, that it would be the same here in Simple.
Black Mamba has been for some time tying to poach players away from this server to go and play on his own server, even doing in game chat, I was under the assumption this was another attempt to do the same thing and therefore did not think it was appropriate. I was simply trying to protect the interests of the Simple servers but it would seem I have gotten it totally wrong so I humbly apologise and through myself at the mercy of the mob.

uhm i usually ask forum owner first if its ok. there was much harder attitude years ago when you could be kicked or even banned if you advertised your clan or tried to drag players from a server.

Tuia has this big heart where everyone is welcomed, and so they always comes back sooner or later.

Yes, recruiting to a clan on community forum (even that), self-advertising, advertising mods, advertising other communities were strictly forbidden before in many communities. (also in-game)

Think the rules should be properly written in details and update it time to time. it seems even in 2015 (SiMPLE was formed in 2012 if i am right) there are some basic questions that seem to pop up. These should be clear and written at the rules with the proper extent..perhaps. dont want to mind in, but these can cause troubles.

not everyone can and will ask the server owner, and it becomes annoying after a time..

Times are tough around the BF42 wagon...It is more important than ever to put your heart into everything you do regarding this game.
It is also equally important to defend your respect for the game, it's communities, servers, guru's and owners to the best of your abilities.

Gentleman, It's one day, attend for part of it if you want, or not. I am involved with multiple BF1942 communities and the IS82 staff have been there in the past to help out many times. For those loyal to simple, GOOD.. the days of Battlefield make us all wonder what we are even doing here at all! Let alone, events and mods. Hell, Galactic Conquest is set for a new release and Eve of Destruction too. It's rather incredible.

Not being worked on, it is complete according to web sites. However it is set to release (Jan 1, 2016) as a stand alone game for purchase. I'm not exactly sure how that works.. seems like anyone buying it would also have Battlefield 1942 ready to go. I recently made an inquiry.

I will say that modding for profit, has been frowned upon in the past by the communities. With 42 in abandon-ware status.. perhaps that changes. Squad and Project Reality both come to mind, stand alone games made with the BF2 engine that are doing well.

According to the web site for the new version of EoD, http://www.eod-game.com/info.htm, "In 2013 the game was completely rebuilt and received it's [sic] own engine based upon Unity 3D." So it doesn't need BF1942, or BF2, etc.

Oh yeah I know they've migrated to a newer engine, I was asking if the BF1942 version is still being developed... I don't really care about those newer standalone games based on 42 mods.
