Re: Battlefield Vietnam

You have done the 1.61 and the 1.61b?

The other you might want to check is that wonderful windows firewall is not blocking the game?

also see here :

Apparently that update affected many games. It disabled secdrv.sys which is the SafeDisk protection scheme. Here's a link with a little more detail:

https://forums.techguy.org/threads/sept … s.1155534/

Microsoft's article on the patch describes how you can re-enable the service.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3086255

Open a command prompt with Admin access and then type the following commands pressing ENTER after each one:

CODE
sc config secdrv start= demand
sc start secdrv

One reason for doing it this way instead of just uninstalling the patch, you can disable it when you play and then disable it when you're done.

The game definitely runs on Win10 in fact better than it ever did on 7 or 8.
If you are using 10 you may also like to download this http://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10

You may also want to try to run the PC using a local account :

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/wind … windows-10

and if you are going to do this I would recommend also enabling the hidden administrator account.

Good luck

Why would he install 1.61 and 1.61b? He's talking about BFV. In that case the patches would be 1.2/1.21.

Re: Battlefield Vietnam

Download http://team-simple.org/download/bfvietn … atched.zip, extract zip file to your Battlefield Vietnam directory, overwriting all 4 files: BFVietnam.exe, Mod.dll, init.con and LevelCheck.con. Please tell me if, after this, Battlefield Vietnam works in Windows 10.

Re: Battlefield Vietnam

You have to extract package files to your Battlefield Vietnam directory, not run BFVietnam.exe from the zip file. smile
Open zip file with WinRAR and click extract button, it must show a warning it will overwrite those 4 files, I mentioned.
