Another no so bright question

So as dumb as this may be, I am curious if anyone knows when I add "Buddy's" to my list, and the next map is going to load, does the program try to match me to the same team as my buddies or to the team where the majority of my buddies are on? Seems as if I end up with a bunch-O-green guys on my team and if that's the case, I like that unless its pure coincidence.

Re: Another no so bright question

It doesn't affect anything. You just mark them green for them to be moкe visible during battles. Teams are selected randomly.

Re: Another no so bright question

How do you clear your buddy list?
Is there a command like, "clearallbuddies" or something like that?

Re: Another no so bright question

dont know if there is a clear all command, but same tab key as "add buddy" there is a "drop buddy" button.
Pleiades three "hints" to using buddy button...

1) If you add yourself as a buddy, and no one else, your arrow on map is only one green so you can see where your head is at.. haha

2) Add buddy of a problem player.  I think the buddy key is based on keyhash, so when that player joins with a different name....it will stlll be green..and you will go..who the heck is that guy...oh duh!!!...

3) If I see all my 'buddies" on one side, I switch to other side as most of them are seasoned players and I think teams might be a little off, even if number of players is even...

Re: Another no so bright question

If you add a problem player to buddies he will be green after changing the name ingame i.e. through console. If he disconnects and changes name offline he won't be green anymore. Buddylist doesn't work through keyhash. It works with plain text names. So if you add a player Ben with 40 ping, tomorrow you can see Ben with 150 ping marked green though he is a totally different player.

Funny Monky, I actually DID add a questionable player as a buddy to help me follow him. And he was on again a few days later and it was NOT the same guy. You know, one of those Players BF Player, whom so many folks use as a name........
And you probably already do know I dont mind switching teams when it gets all off balanced like my Aunt Ethel. Even if I am not as seasoned as others here. OLD maybe but not "seasoned"...........

I believe the "Buddies List" resides in your settings folder as a plain text document, you should be able to edit this as you like which will mean you can also clear the list if you so wish.

Re: Another no so bright question

Hold tab. Right mouse click. Then point mouse cursor on somebody's nickname. Tgen left mouse click on it to make it bold. Then u slide cursor down and select "add to buddies" . Nickname becomes green. Release tab. Done.

Ditto.  As fun as it can be to play alongside buddies it's infinitely more fun kicking their asses from the other side of the fence.  Then again I almost always join the team that is losing badly as I like the challenge of turning the game around.
