Stupid question regarding DDR graphic card and DDR ram

Can anyone tell me if a ddr3/ddr5 graphics card will work on a ddr2 motherboard?

If the slot you are plugging it into is compatible then yes no reason why not.
Just because your MoBo only supports DDR2 does not mean you cant have DDR3 on your GPU.

My game crashed around 6 times yesterday to desktop, must be something related to my 8 year old graphic card. Maybe having a new one will help stability.

Ok so this is your mobo : https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M2N/specifications/

it has the following expansion slots:
1 x PCIe x16 slot
2 x PCIe x1
3 x PCI 2.2

Provided the card your getting fits one of those slots your good to go

*sigh*....the DDR2 on the motherboard refers to the RAM *it* supports. Whatever type of RAM the graphics card supports in the graphics card own damn business and it'd ask you kindly to mind your own.

Lec, your conf is obsolete, even though it is good for the 13 yr old game, but , bf1942.exe is not the only process running under your task manager. ( which means, for ex. if you have firefox running in the background,) , that itself consumes half of your resources , all programs are updating themselves constantly, asking for more resources ( it s a ploT of IT industry so you must buy a new PC
that is the problem, and new vga won't solve a thing.
buy a new pc, or at least a newer one
or even better
install windows xp sp2, with old programs on it, and it will work like it did back in 2007,
why do you think your old game feels worse then a few years ago
only and only because of resources and new drivers, and new programs, and new updates, you wear on your Hdd
you can thank me with a beer, next time we meet

you should also upgrade to newer pc so that you can have more RAM...current mobo only recognizes 3 mb of RAM?  you need lots of ram to run anything nowadays...
