Hey,

I have just downloaded this game from Kat.cr (Battlefield 1942 HD)

I have also installed your patch that allows you to search for other servers, however im always getting the message ''connection problems detected'' Im using a broadband speed of over 150mb btw

I am experiencing a few problems with it,

1. I first got on it, it was fine for a while, and then got auto kicked because of some noob jumping infront of my planes. Now whenever I go on it, it says ''Connection problems detected'' and disconnects me.

2. I could not even register on this forum until I disconnected my vpn, it was saying '' Error - Undesirable RC :1 "

Can anyone help with these connection issues? I've been wanting to play this game again for years and now, it seems. I was nearly there but cant.

I am guessing that the server doesnt recognize your "free" cd key; you probably need a real one to sign in. can you sign in other servers besides Simple?

I do not think you can register on the forum while hiding your real IP address behind a VPN are you also trying to play from behind a VPN?

Hello,

I had to disable my VPN in order to get onto the servers correctly. And to register on these forums. Now whenever I want to play the game I have to turn off the VPN and it connects ok, I am also able to connect to other servers.

I don't understand why I have had to do this? Im currently using PIA VPN, and it works great.

Also, the way I'm viewing the game is like 16:9, and im currently using a laptop. Is there a patch or something that I can download so I can view it full screen?

It is possible that your VPN range has been blocked by the server owner, seeing as how you can get to other servers. This would only normally be done for a specific reason on the server but is always the case on the forums.

I suggest when you play on Simple servers you turn off you VPN.

But I cant connect to other servers while on the VPN too, however it did work at first until for a while until I was auto-kicked because of some noob.

I'll be buying a keyboard today also because is so hard to play with a laptop keyboard (not to mention I keep moving the mouse accidently)

It would appear then that the route of your problem is the VPN, is it important that you use VPN?
As Hook correctly points out the WS patch is available in the downloads section.

Hey,

Yes, I do prefer to use my VPN. Is there any special things I can do to get it working?

I will take a look at the full screen download, if its not right I can always remove it, correct?

And another thing is, whenever I load up the game and exit it, all my desktop icons are not where they were. They have all moved and I have to put them back in order, which is a bit annoying.

Oh btw, I found the widescreen thing, it was on the video resolution control thing in BF1942 all along, I tried it out, but it just made the text look funny and the page looked a bit weird. Is their anyway to make the page sort of "normal" full screen. with none of these abnormalities?

I suggest that you may have done something wrong many of us use this HD menu and it works really well.

Your icons are moving because you desktop resolution is different than that used by BF. If you are using 1920x1080 as a desktop resolution and your game is using 800x600 your GPU performs a resize upon entering the game and again as you exit, it is this that causes the icons all to move.

well, I removed thing I downloaded (HD BAR MOD) and it works fine. Didn't look like it did much difference too, just crashes upon startup, and when I put it to widescreen or fullscreen, I cant see the writing and it looks weird... damn

A lot better using the CD version, but im on a laptop here so :\
