Example of parts that will provide an average framerate of 200 per second at 1600 x 1200 with everything at max, and never below 100 fps ..... In other words ... A lagfree bf1942 pc, even at a full 72 player server

Anybody should be able to afford this as the bare minimum. Stop complaining about server lag on Simple :-) I've had virtually zero lag at this server over the last six months. A weak pc and its net connection are the likely sources for those who do experience it.

All of you that have clientside lag, is most probably one of the reasons, not powerful enough GPU or CPU to run BF1942 at your current video settings, or badly configured video card settings (turn off vsync, change anti-aliasing (AA) and anisotropic filtering (AF) mode, etc.) or operating system settings (some programs/services leeching in the background, not enough free memory). Internet connection is not the problem nowadays, unless you live in a 3rd world country.

the gpu in that laptop is very weak, even for 1942 ... it will be choppy at medium / high settings no matter what you do

Thx for the advice guys... i had gamebooster on, so all not useless background programs should be closed.

I remember that i had back then a Radeon 9500pro and i didn't have much problems. And this card had 64mb and that on in the laptop has 512mb. The one who gave me that laptop played WOW without any problems.

Tuia, of course i mean FPS laggs and not internet laggs...
I played on 1024x748 and all graphic settings on low.

I hope i can fix it... i would install XP, but there are no driver for XP for the hardware. And the RAM is limited on XP on 3gb or 3,5gb right? I have Win7 64 home edition...

He plays everything on high and doesn't have any laggs. OK the GPU is better and the CPU is from Intel... maybe Intel works better with the GPU then AMD CPU, right?

On this benchmark test 2006 (http://www.chip.de/downloads/3DMark06_12995482.html) my brother's asus has about 4600 point and my acer about 4000. I think its a problem with BF42... even with that GPU and CPU such an old game should run better... im going to install a newer game to test it.

exactly ATFSM, i have bought second hand a few days ago a "beast", e8500, 8gb ddr3, radeon 6850, caviar black 1 tb, and still have the same problem as i had before that. it is my third upgrade in a few months, but nothing has changed, so, it must be the fault in internet connection, not the server, nor our computers .

Is it lag due to frame rate drops or high unstable ping? What is your computer's Operating System?

Lag can be perceived as frame rate drops (your pc) or unstable or high ping/latency (your internet connection or the server connection).

Well, the situation varies from map to map, for example , i don't have any lag on bocage, or market garden, well, some, comparable to a 65ms ping,,,,,,but aberdeen, stalingrad, and some other maps, occasionaly i even have dropped frames, and it s frustrating, i never experienced that on german servers ( if we are speaking about distance from my town to this server, we are more or less there in kms),,,,,,but to be honest tuia, i think it is my internet provider to blame, mostly,because guys on croatian telecom have a 35-45 ping here, and myself on "iskon internet" have about 55-75, mostly 65...
plus, inside my home , we have 4 computers , connected from router -> switch -> access point, mine is (cable-LAN)
Thx for the directx upgrade, but i already have the latest one, and on this computer i currently use Windows xp sp3, on the other i have Windows 7, but rarely play there, since sometimes game crashes even in compatibility mode.

on the other hand, 60 ms here looks like 130 ms on NBN russia, but as i have told , i think it is my net provider, and yes, the connection box for 20 houses is always wet, perhaps bad contacts, etc...
when i do the tracert , it seems to go btw 3 providers before it goes to france.....

in France we have the fiber connection with 200M/bits and i use it from 1 year now before i had the 100M/bits and for the rest is about 30M/bits for adsl or cable.

at the moment i went for a cheaper version recently, about 43 euro per month for 10 Mbit / 512 kbit , 90 programs on TV, and 1000 min of conversation , i mean, can it be more expensive compared to europe, tcccc, i really live in a banana state.

I pay 35€ for 16.000 bandwidth... thats 16 mbit/s right? They offered me 50 mbit/s and after i agreed they said it's not possible here... would be only 5 € more.

@george - try this to solve ur ping problem:

0) make backup from ur registry
1) systemcontrol-panel -> programs and functions -> activate windows functions -> install microsoft-message-queue server (mark this: http://www.entfesselt.org/wp-content/ga … n/ping.jpg )
2) open ur registry-editor
3) navigate to: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftMSMQParameters]
4) click right and make new DWORD (32bit). call it "TcpNoDelay" and set the value to "1" (hex)
5) navigate to: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetservicesTcpipParametersInterfaces]
6) search in this file "Interfaces" for ur network or router-IP (its mostly this file with most entries).
7) make a new DWORD (32bit) in this file and call it "TcpAckFrequency". set the value to "1" (hex)
8) restart ur system
