Windows 10

Hi Guys,

So I was wondering before updating: Did anybody tested BF1942 with Windows 10? Is it working great or not?

Thanks

Re: Windows 10

Yeah cheers I've bookmarked that one and I'll have a good read of it in the coming days.  If anyone's gone through the change from 7 to 10 and found any crucial steps that need to be navigated carefully please let me know.

Cheers

The only thing I had to turn on after the upgrade was the DirectPlay feature, you can find out how to do it here:

Re: Windows 10

Happy to report that I had absolutely no issues installing 42 on windows 10.

Ran disks in as normal ran 1.61 and 1.61b updates and started game, all ok so far, windows asked if I wanted to run in compatabilty mode and I clicked yes and the familiar load screen appeared like an old friend smile

Edited hosts file to point to new master list server started again with no issues.

Copied over BF42 exe from download from forums, widescreen fix etc, and then copied all old settings from previous installation.

Came into Simple last night and killed Flick 3 times on windows 10 ..................feeling pleased smile

I did, everything went fine. You will be asked if you want to enable the DirectPlay feature, which you should do, and then you are ready to go.

Well, I hate to break the excitement for those who want to upgrade their "Genuine" Windows 7/8.1 to Windows 10, but I hope you can see the image on this link:

Since it's not open source, you can't be hundred percent sure that Microsoft doesn't get your personal and private data without your permission even with disabled features of sending that kind of information. I am pretty sure they do it secretly on a regular basis maybe since Windows 2000 or Windows Me because it might help to obtain some interesting statistics to analyse from the previous to present and future development. Operating system is not just a software product, it's also a commercial product which costs money and the sales volume depends on how popular the product is among the users.

It's a joke well-known among the Russians in the Internet, suitable when a person is asking something obvious which is not difficult to find using Google in a minute.
