Looks like I was banned by an admin named Flick on gazala. I saw something in chat about a map hack accusation but I was hoping that wasn't against me. I had the altitude advantage in a dog fight as a 109 vs FLick's Spit and I happened to toggle to cinematic camera mode as he was fleeing and immediately pursued that direction hoping he was maintaining that course. I've played this game enough to know that a spitfire vs a 109 with an altitude advantage usually has two choices: 1) keep turning and hoping to get a quick burst or 2 ) completely exit the fight and try to climb hoping the 109 didn't see where you went, then pursue the 109 at same alt or higher.

I was about to abort but then suddenly spotted him where I had last seen him flying towards (to the north), then proceeded to finish him off with a burst as he turned.

It's unfortunate that that's all it took to get banned on a solid server for a game that I love after close to a 10+ year hiatus ( I played a few weeks ago for first time ). I'm glad I wasn't playing with my surround sound headphones or there might be even more accusations as I usually fly high with low throttle to listen for planes at full throttle.

My background:
I've played bf42 since the original wake island demo ( 56k modem ughh). I was an original Desert Combat developer ( used to be a moderator on forums under same nickname too) and I worked for DICE NY to help prototype BF2. I've been in game development ever since and currently work for Respawn(Titanfall) as a Sr 3d Artist. Back in the '42 days I was a regular on the ECGN servers since I used to live in FL/NYC.

I would never use hacks and especially not in a game that I've put thousands of hours into and started my career from. I guess the next time I join a server I'll be sure to have some sort of capture device ready to try and better defend against a ban. Sadly, that leaves with me with just 1 server due to ping and the result of playing a game that's this old.

I myself love flying since the game has came out, I fly pretty much like your style sometimes high and sometimes i'm lower to ground. I won't say why people fly certain ways CrazyBri cause some think they seem to know more about it then either you or i. I myself had to wait awhile for a ban appeal because of my flying abilities, Tuia will look at your appeal and see what the admin has put in as reason for your ban. I hope you luck my friend, i myself, once i get a better system is going to make a video to prove myself which i shouldn't have to do. Be patient and keep checking back here.

I too was in chase front mode, watching you go up. I didn't make my turn in the direction I was headed until you were out of view. There is no way for you know what direction i was headed. So you can claim cinematic view, fly by mode, chase rear, chase front, anything you want. I was gone from your sight, because you were gone from my sight. I have researched it extensively by flying up, exactly the way you were and looking back down in chase front. Any planes that I could see disappear at a specific distance, I can't see which way they go. Even worse in Fly by mode, you get a quick glance at the same distance down for a moment before your plane passes the camera and then is looking skyward. The only way you would be able to even catch a glimpse is if you dropped your fly by at the very bottom of your flight before you started back up, which you already claimed that you just happened to switch while you were far above me. So, if I have missed something let me know. I am more than willing to admit my mistake if you can explain it to me.

Flick, I'm pretty sure you were smoking so all it would take would be to catch a glimpse of that trail. It happened super fast while I was in cinematic mode so I can't confirm it was smoke I saw, but I saw something popping out against the orange gazala fog. I toggle between the different views on my joystick quickly and there's usually a camera animation transition . All that I need to see is a tiny glimpse to just get a rough idea of where to proceed to. Even then, it's not guaranteed that I will find your plane as you weren't visible for several seconds.

I have no other proof and no other explanation. It's just as simple as that. I don't know what else to say except I 100 percent stand by my word and my claim that I was not cheating and do not cheat. It's honestly a bit jarring to me that an accusation can happen so quickly on a server like this. I have no clue how much abuse you guys have to put up with from smacktard players that do actually cheat, but I'm definitely not one of them. When I was an admin, I made sure to follow players for a bit and not just ban them on assumptions from one encounter unless it was extremely obvious. There's no telling how many people get unfairly banned otherwise. This is not my server so obviously I don't call the shots but just something to consider if you have that sort of authority/power.

BoS, thanks for the insight. I'll probably start running fraps when I play on moongamers just to be safe. Although my time is probably better spent off the PC these days.

I put in a request to the server owner to remove your ban. I am willing to say that I acted hastily in my ban. I feel that with what I saw and how it happened, that you could not have seen the direction that I went. I will concede to an educated guess is always possible, and that I should have given you the benefit of the doubt until I could have proven what I believe. My Apologies. I would like to add, we have Team Speak available. Myself and several others are on and off during the day. You are more than welcome to jump in and offer any insight on your flying style that I may not understand. You can log in to TS with... team-simple.fr no password needed.

Alot of times flying is guess work and majority of times you can guess what "i" would do statement would be correct. I have joined team speak and "my" personal experience I will not be on due to situation and attitudes that were given during my short brief time on there which I choose not to subject myself to be given. Do what you would. this is a game that alot of us known over 10 years, some of us did this on a personal height level during its great peaks of TWL before the BF2 series came out. Some of us pushed ourselves to do that "guess" or "judgmental" move and it might be 50/50. Don't let one deal ruin the re-experience of the game, just have fun which i am and enjoy friends that you use to play against back then

Thanks for the request for the ban removal and the apology. I'm not sure if I'll use TS when I play next time but it's good to know the channel is available if I decide to. I used to go on ECGN's TS back in the day. Also, I will try to have fraps or some other capture device setup as I'll still be a bit paranoid to be honest.

BoS makes some good points. I definitely have to make a lot of educated guesses and it does feel like a dice roll at times. On the moongamers server last weekend my guesswork was quite shoddy at I got owned by a few regulars there. This one pilot would act like he was going one way and then always seem to invert and slow down right after I last saw his initial direction with the camera switch. Doh!

Here you go, assumption of someone's guilt or attitude just because some of us do not want to be on teamspeak. I sent Tuia a length Private message: in this message i stated what good will this video that Winston want do? Once its made and posted will the finger pointing stop? the accusations? or will they continue? and also that its been requested to join teamspeak but I did not state any names of any sort I just said I will not come onto teamspeak and subject "myself" to the conflict i experienced last time. Us public Flick do not have to use it . . .

I told winston when i will be able to order my computer and that his video request will be on its way just for him asking. That admin i will have respect and will do what he asks to certain degree.

As for the excuse of ordering a computer if you have to go down that road... I don't know about some, but majority have kids right? I have 6, 2 just going to start college so my funds go else where. New computer is going to help my kids for college (and daddy gets to use it for gaming ).

This series i did not say anything or bad mouth anyone but just told him to be patient and wait for a response...

I tip my hat to Flick for the testicular fortitude of a straight and OPEN apology and admission that he, like me and everyone else, is human and can possibly make a mistake. There are times when we are positive of a cheater or hack and times its uncertain but seems so, that a decision is made and the decision is for the general good and fun play we all seek. This is the perfect case of the intention of the Forum in this menu and the end result is respect. When you get back on Bri just keep playing hard, fast, fun and friendly and you will certainly become respected and known here too. And you are always welcome on TS even if there is no issue to discuss. Join for the shits and giggles of the room if you wish.
Way to go Flick and a nice example of consideration. Next time I get behind you, I might give you a few steps (out of respect) before I kill you. :-)

He does get points for admittance but, his last statement just basically flattens any fortitude there might be, he apologize then comes back with that? Plediades53? Its almost like give you cake and having little ice cream? Small stabs here will lead to big open wounds possible later.

I'm going to make this video for Winston, what fortitude of admittance happen then? Will it stop? or will I or others like myself (CrazyBri) have to keep proven ourselves just because of the way we play? I ask Tuia when will it stop? From one admin to another, just because he gets killed or something out of the ord happens. I don't have much issues with any admins and those that help this last time I thank you, appreciate your hard work, but there are some just won't let it go. Its pour salt into that wound little more.

He made the stab, but I won't lay down for it i'll be responding to every single one.

BoS I look for the good where it lives. I have already lived a life in the shit so I look for better. I see this issue likely to work out just fine, even if it is not as smooth as some might wish. In the end, the path still comes to the same place. A good ending. That is as long as things are indeed upfront. I dont think you know the entire situation BoS but I do know when any human, Admin or not, apologizes in any level, I see the good. It takes juevos to do that on a public Forum.
The offer for TS is one where the conversation can be spoken immediately, as the issue occurs. Makes life a whole bunch easier. If the person does not have TS, it makes sense to bring the entire issue here. (The Forum) If one HAS TS, where could there POSSIBLY be a problem???? I see only good, even if it appears antagonistic. I know it is not in my heart. Not that there is much heart left in this old body.
Find the good BoS. Its there if you look. Your exact situation is an example. You made your way back here after a ban yourself. This server is run by a private individual and it is a blessing to be able to play here. its NOT a "right" as some think. All players are welcome to start their own server and have any such rules they wish and run it as they please. I have yet to find a better place to play than at simple USA and France. Play hard, fun, fast and furious. Kill well and enjoy the show. Then smile at the fun you have here. I do. And I know others do too.

That statement above Plediades53 I will agree with you said pretty well and yes i do look on happier side of things, if there is stabs here and then i'll just over look them and ignore them as such. The individual that owns this server, yes I do know that its a privilege to play on his server, never said its a right. Really? I didn't say I was going to pass for sure so that's a bit of a weird comment. It's not always easy for me to jump on a mic for a game I barely have time to play with my living situation and work schedule. It's not impossible but the longer hours I work and the fact that my pc is in my bedroom, limits certain setups. Back in college, this was NOT an issue but those days are lonnnnnng gone. Late 30's here.

ATF SM thanks for the tip about shadowplay. I have a titan card so I should be able to use that. Seems much more useful and less of a hard drive/file size drain vs fraps.

I can very much confirm it is less of a hard drive muncher than Fraps due to the compression but still very usable video and very easy to use.

Why don't you just video the cheats then post video rather than banning on a whim,then you get the expert fliers,inf and tankers can give an opinion on it.will save all this backtracking and unbanning

actually an "admin only" forums section would be fantastic for that for discussion/videos on suspect players with out the general public being able to see it in case their buddy is watching and can warn them.
