I tried the widescreen mod from here and this is what I got.. I saved the original .exe so no big deal…. but am I doing something wrong?
Lol
Is it this widescreen patch? http://team-simple.org/download/bf1942- … en-fix.zip
Also, what resolution you set in video options?
Edit: probably you installed this one http://www.wsgfmedia.com/jackfuste/BF19 … 48_10_9.7z ?

lol i used this one/// http://team-simple.org/download/bf1942- … atched.zip
I tried all resolutions doesn't matter..
Nvidia 550TI.. AMD 8350 8 core.. ASROCK 990fx Extreme 4 .. 4 gigs ram.. 3 SSD drives 1 with XP 1 with win7 and one with win 8
This is when I change the video.con file to 1920/1080
...
With the patch you have nothing to change in the video.con and videodefault.con, as far i know.
Make inGame a new profile and choose standard settings. But remember if you once modified all video(*.*).cons, you have to overwrite them with originals.
It's easy... someone could look with TotalCommmander over Teamviewer for discrepances between his and your configfiles.

That looks like the eyefinity patch, its supposed to keep the hud overlay on the middle screen and the rest of the game on the two extra monitors
its coming from the BF.exe because this is the same game folder with no modded .con files. just the BF.exe modded
This is same game folder and the original BF1942.exe from my back up and no modded .con files
You used the eyefinity widescreen patch, as bud wrote. Download BF1942 executable patched, which includes widescreen fixes, from http://team-simple.org/download page.
Never heard of it but I’ll take your word for it.. so download the battlefield 1942 v1.61 retail patched ?
one thing too I haven’t install BF for years just move the folder over to new comp/formatted hardrives and use the CD key changer then play from the folder..
THX
You can move the Battlefield 1942 folder to any place, if you use that Battlefield 1942 executable patched. However, it's recommended you install the game, because it will create all necessary Windows registry entries for BF1942, like language, version, CD-key, and a few others.
...
Or just import the regdats to the registry.
...
Ok i installed the game then just replaced the new folder with the old one... game is working fine.. no wide screen if I try and change the display mode to whatever It just goes back to 1024 x 768 as soon as I hit save..
This is what I get at 1280 x 720
At 1360 x 760
And at 1920 x 1080
Why did you replace the new folder with the old one? If you want to keep your game settings, just replace <BF1942 DIR>\Mods\bf1942\Settings folder. I would recommend you install BF1942 fresh and run Battlefield 1942 GameSpy patch v1.61. Then, you can pick any widescreen resolution from in-game Video menu.
yesI did the full install all 4 disks and the 1.6 update then< I did replace the old folder with the new and I got widescreen working but I have to mod my video.con file to the resolution I want, then it works, doesn't seem to work while using the in game setting, but doesn't matter it works.
I'm not using it because it a bit too grainy..thanks for you help...

If it's grainy, then i guess, the real resolution is low.

replace the values in the files to your resolution
does anything know or think changing the min CPU MHz would make a difference with performance in game?
I doubt it would..
ruckus, that line is a comment. Every lines in .con files preceded by rem command are ignored by BF1942 engine.
To change some settings which may improve performance, read this Battlefield 1942 Tweak Guide - Advanced Tweaking.
Ok thats right i remember that now..
so If I say (rem.you suck ) that means I don't meant it too right..
thanks for help no rem.
