You know, it's like in bf1942 Game... Sometimes it needs only one, who motivate the losing team, ... hold it together, but at the end, Teamwork is everything. One or two good players don't win a match alone.
Same in football...
The question is, how good a team can handle a situation. I guess the coach brainwashed the brasil Team in the pause, because the second half was brasil vs. germany, as everybody expected, but it was to late.
The best team is that, which can counter the opponents strategy. Not only before a match is beginning, but also in changing situations. From this point, i guess, the germans were/are the best team from this WM. Ok, with algier they had their problems too. But now, the rest of the world saw, that it's not enough to become "Weltmeister" with only 1 or 2 men which can shot a goal at the end of 90 minutes, like Argentina or brasil and others.

Well done Germany. Expected Argentina to go out with a bit more of a fight though.
WELTMEISTER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Germany deserved to win, but argentina played also very well. Myself, i had anticipated the exploit by argentina.

Argentina defended very well, it's incredible how they managed to block most attacks from Germany and Netherlands, without his goalkeeper breaking a sweat. But that is all they did, they defended very well and organized, then tried some counter-attacks and solo runs. In the end the best team, Germany, won the World Cup.
Messi did not deserve the best player award, in my opinion, it should be Robben (what did he take to run 120 mins without exhaustion?!) or James Rodriguez.
...
In my opinion, Rodriguez from the Swiss was one of the best defenders of the WM
...
Best defenders from World Cup were Hummels from Germany, Zapata from Colombia, Thiago Silva from Brazil and not David Luiz. David Luiz is a big fail and was elected in FIFA's World Cup best eleven!
I didn't notice that Rodriguez from Switzerland, but I've only watched parts of the Switzerland game against Ecuador.

He took the ball from di Maria 11 times in the last match and many times also from messi.

imo argentina didnt even deserve to pass the group stages, only winning by luck. Still against Holland it was the most boring footballnight ever.
@ tuia, what about defender de Vrij? he's really good also

You can thank Van Gaal for this boring match. The argentinian coach knew Val Gaal would play defensively and he just did the same. Smart tactic. Argentina played strong in the final and it was a 50:50 game, Holland wouldn't have a chance vs. Germany i think.
Ron Vlaar played great. It was surprising. Jaap Stam 2.0.
In my opinion, the best defensive action was a tackle by Barzagli during the game against England : Welbeck drilled in a hard low cross right to the front of the goal line. At the near post Barzagli tackled with a skilled ankle movement, which lifted and moved the ball behind the far post. Amazing
You need mammoth's balls and a very good technique to dare to try that.
That way I score an own goal nine times out of ten
