Re: Battlefield 1942 Questions & Answers

Question for those more old skool than I, is there a way to prioritize heal on yourself as medic? I have heard it from multiple people that you can right click while healing and you will heal yourself rather than your teammates, but I haven't been able to replicate it.

Just run away from your mate and heal.... only thing you can do.  But you know that you heal mates a lot faster than yourself right?

I would like having your help.
There is some months, i saw on youtube a video of a pilot who used a lateral view (left and right), i was surprised and looked for that, but nothing.

I asked to indiana jones and said me try use "joy to key" but didn't work for me and for him.

Re: Battlefield 1942 Questions & Answers

I was wondering how to use sniper's binocular navigation. I mean like, does it even help? How to orientate via it?

Re: Battlefield 1942 Questions & Answers

Navigation? You navigate with the minimap.
You can do at least two things with that binocular:
Searching for something, for example enemy sniper.
Spotting target areas for artillery by clicking the left mouse key, for example enemy artillery/tanks, Troop concentrations, strategical points.
The Artillerist will see what you have seen during the spotting for a speciffic time, when the artillerist fires, the view will focus at the grenade and follow it so he can see how close his shot was. When no grenade is underway, he sees the spot view again.
btw. you can spot for yourself if you are fast enought, many ppl. here don´t get it.

I've noticed that when a sniper marks a target, on my minimap appears a green area where the target is probably located. But i cant see any marks on map of enemy armor or troops. And how to trace your grenade? It will be shown on the minimap?

Re: Battlefield 1942 Questions & Answers

The green marking shows the perspective of the spot, not the target area itself.
You spot a static area, moving targets won´t be traced. basically you make a short film of the area so the artillerist can see were his grenades impact far out of his regular sight. Only artillery guns can use it, no standart tanks. You go into an artillery gun and klick the right mouse key to use a spot, then you fire, watch were you hit, correct and fire again and so on.

Re: Battlefield 1942 Questions & Answers

Is it possible to switch to the expack detonator without delay?

There are four steps involved in using expacks:

1) Select expacks

2) Place/throw an expack

3) Switch to the detonator

4) Twist/press the detonator handle

For me, there has always been a delay of 1-2 seconds at step 3 - switching to the detonator.

No matter how I do it (right mouse clicking), it takes that amount of time to switch.

Except with the last expack. When placing it, there is an almost instant autoswitch to step 3.

I'm pretty sure but not certain I've seen people perform step 3 incredibly fast with all expacks.

Anybody knows how to do that?

Expack usage with step 3 delay for first three packs, no delay for fourth:

Re: Battlefield 1942 Questions & Answers

As far as I know the only way to do this is to get a software that will run a MACRO with the sequence need to deploy and detonate the expack for you then tie that MACRO to a button on your keyboard like F12 or something.

But ....

A macro in this case would just automate keyboard/mouse actions.

Which keyboard/mouse actions would you set it to perform?

Which sequence?

No, only !nextmap. Also you can press Insert button and see list of maps instead typing !nextmap.

no, but can be run under linux using the wine emulator

Wine is not an emulator.

It's a compatibility layer.

Okay, I skimmed through here and Im sure I didnt see this.

To "add buddy" in game ,hit the ~ key and type ab (whatever your number is on the scoreboard).

Handy on bot filled mayhem servers or just add yourself so you can see exactly where you are in relation to vanishing arrows as you are green compared to the standard blue or red.

To remove "buddy",just type: rb ( and number )

This with right mouse and selfhealing is true. It's helpfull when your medics and health are very low and all around you your comrades desperately crying for medics.

...

If you drop yoor nade with right mouse, it will fall just fall in front of your feets.

After a good knife fight, there's no sweeter feeling then dropping a nade to your feets end, on the head of your dead opponent, to bestow him your respect. ... sfresse.gif  ...
