Re: SSD drive

There could be a backlash in the wires or the SATA port. Do you have the hard disc inside your computer or through en external SATA port to usb? I've my SSD as primary and im running bf with it, no problem.

But you should just try to reininstall your game, since I just realised the game does not crash, only dc you from server.

Re: SSD drive

The game does not crash right? Only an error message in the game? It's probably a Config file conflicting. Did you move your battlefield 1942 folder from old hard drive to the new one? This could result in possible conflicts in the dll files etc.  Try to reininstall the game!

Re: SSD drive

SiMPLE new maps installer just copies some map files to your default BF1942 levels folder and creates a desktop shortcut to server. It does not create any Windows registry entries, you can manually remove map files and shortcut and that's it.
If you get disconnected from server, it's not your SSD drive problem, it's your internet connection.

I'm almost 100 % sure you have some conflicts between the config/ dll files in bf1942 folder when you changed the sdd disc to primary disc. Sometimes computer can be a mystery but I think I've experienced this problem myself one time.  First step you should do; uninstall all battlefield 1942 paths from old hard drive you have any. Uninstall BF1942 on the SSD drive and install it again on the same drive ofc, make sure you install it in C:/ because this is orginal the primary disc. This should work, to 99 %. If it doesn't work, reformatting remove all the contents in the HDD drive (old one) if you want to save them to the C:/ or anything else you want to save. If it still doesn't work, throw you computer in the garbage and buy a new one.

Is "Aggressiv link management" disabled in Bios? (if not, disable it once).

Re: SSD drive

...

Is it an AMD Chipset?

AMD 890/990 Board with 850/950 Chipset have problems with some Samsung F1-F3 Harddisks. These harddisks need a Firmware Upgrade...

Even if the game is not on old HD, it can make problems, bec. the Samsung F1/F3 Serie loses connection.

If it's an AMD Chipset and Samsung F-Serie HD, (but even with another old HD) deactivate "Aggressive Link Management" in Bios ...and if it's an F1/F3, then you have to make an FirmwareUpgrade for the Harddisk.

But first you have to answer some infos about Mainboard, Harddisk, etc.

I can solve (nearly) every Hardware problem, but i need infos.

(But... it can also be, that the old HD has some other problems. But this is measurable.)

...

What you say about DSL and Cablemodem? Did you reset the router, when you changed between those InetLines?

...

Re: SSD drive

Test the Cable Inet with this. http://hsi.hsr.ch/speedtest/

After the Test you cklick > "Alle Resultate" > "Test Details" > avtivate "Show Web 100 Parameters"

(Under TestDetails you can compare all results over month, as long you have used the same Browser and PC.)

If it's ovious that something with the Inet is not ok, then you can send this link from "Alle Resultate" to your ISP and tell them, they should activate "Web 100 parameters".

Here you can find other testcenters, some in germany, most in CH. But allways use the same over some days.

https://www.cnlab.ch/de/performance/speedtest  (scroll down and choose another one, if you like)

> You reset your modem once? > Power off for 20 seconds and power on. And then you deactivate and activate also your Lan, when changing between ADSL and Cable.

You should also use a Router for Cable. But then you have to reset or restart your Router also, when you change between these two different Inets.

If you have used TCP Optimizer or you changed some settings manually then remember, that CableInet has another MTU, then ADSL.

...

There's nothing wrong to test from time to time for Rootkits, Malware etc. with ComboFix and AdwCleaner etc.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/downloa … utilities/

...

If you need some help, i can have a look via Teamviewer.

...

But... if you have differences with and without old Harddisk, i think, it could have to do something with that. and not your ISP.

Think about. I see those things fast, when i have a look inside the eventvwr and when i know, which Chipset your PC has.

...

1. Try to change input of the ADSL aisles if you have more than one. There will always be one main entrance with best possible connection and I believe it's often in the kitchen or the hall.

2. Why your TV connection disconnects could be that simple as if someone calls you on your home phone it will be a conflict with the signals both from your ISP to network and to TV. What kind of Splitter do you use? There is a splitter both for phone connection and network which wont make the signal eliminating the other  http://www.usledsupply.com/shop/rgb-3w- … itter.html
I believe this is one is both for phone and network.

3. Increase your network speed with a good router that can send up to 1000mbps / 1gbs. This will tweak up the speed from ISP to your computer dramatically.
