i'm working on it at this moment, slowly getting there

btw, the plan is to switch to the full list that's at gamespy master like week before the end of  may with entry expiration off for at least a month
then we'll see

i need the small list now for testing both clients and server registration

you'd better change the name "bf1942_gamespy_patcher.exe" to "Battlefield 1942 patch 1.7" because the newcomers always install the latest version patch,
and I think that will restore the popularity of the game and make contact with each server owner to cooperate.
do not forget to spread this patch on any websites and torrents

Then is it possible to create a game-browser with the masterlist from ax as html for the homepage? Maybe with direct connect links?

i don't mind any of those but direct linking the files has the advantage that if i'd have to replace them with some fixed versions, i wouldn't have to hunt where else it's mirrored

not sure what you mean, i plan to create some simple dynamic table for http://master.bf1942.sk with the server entries from master with some links like bf1942:// and whatnot (gotta find out first what different launchers are there)

if there's any skilled web designer who can make me some template that'd look good, i'd appreciate that (just not nathan please - hello nathan, sorry nathan)

EA doesn't own that IP, whois says it belongs to IGN although Glu bought Gamespy from IGN some time ago (so it's actually unclear who operates that server)

GameSpy was acquired by IGN in 2000; by 2014, its services had been used by over 800 video game publishers and developers since its launch. In August 2012, the GameSpy Industries division (which remained responsible for the GameSpy service) was acquired by mobile video game developer Glu Mobile. IGN (then owned by News Corporation) retained ownership of GameSpy's publishing assets. In February 2013, IGN's new owner, Ziff Davis, shut down IGN's "secondary" sites, including GameSpy's network. This was followed by the announcement in April 2014 that GameSpy's service platform will be shut down on May 31, 2014.

besides that, that IP is not used only for BF1942 but for many (most?) of the games that use gamespy services

May 31st came and went, no Gamespy MS shutdown yet, looks like June 30th WAS the right date.

I think there's a small chance it might come tomorrow Monday June 2nd, since companies rarely shut their servers down at weekends.

But only about 10% probability for that, and 90% for June 30th.

May 31st came and went, no Gamespy MS shutdown yet, looks like June 30th WAS the right date.

I think there's a small chance it might come tomorrow Monday June 2nd, since companies rarely shut their servers down at weekends.

But only about 10% probability for that, and 90% for June 30th.

I always thought it would be today. It is certainly better if it happens June 30th than today or tomorrow, more time to get players' attention about the changes.
