smile it means ''Piere noir'' in French, its about a holiday aniversary of Sinterklaas [A bisschop from the Turkish city ''Myra''] Who's bones were robbed by Italians and placed in his own basilisk it became a holiday day and on the day when he died 5 Decembre became a holiday day[Im not sure about this i dont know much about it [few years ago i knew these things about him]=P]
This zwarte Piet is a person who was a cleaner of chimney's [Nederlands: ''schoorsteen''] who was later named as the helper of Sinterklaas but because these people are black, other Dutch black people say it's racism[because Holland was a really active slave trader in the ''Golden Ages'']..
They want the Pieten to be not only black but white and asian and other skin colors too.. I played sometimes zwarte Piet on my dad's work when i was young around the age of 13 i think, it was really fun to do to cheer up and do games with the kids who still believed that Sinterklaas couldn't die and still lived, and at the end we gave them some gifts and other things [Pepernoten = Literally translated: 'peper nuts'[some sort of food] ] smile

Re: Zwarte Piet

Its just fucking gay, its a tradition for over 500 years old. The ''Sinterklaas'' gives everyone in holland presents, in fact its an old tradition like the santa claus. But in holland we got it twice in december.

Now some scum is trying to destroy this tradition because it is racism, well fuck you u black monster. GO BACK TO AFRICA..

anyway if u havent heard about it its hard to explain smile

Re: Zwarte Piet

When I was in school I learned the foreign new year traditions. In Russia, we have a character named Father Frost but I have heard of Santa Claus and Joulupukki. Hehe, I still remember his name because his name sounds funny. I thought that this little black Santa's helper is black because he is a fireplace cleaner or something. smile

Yes, the difference is that Santa comes at Christmas, december 24, not at new year.

Heh, its funny, how you know the word joulupukki because it is a Finnish word. So do you also know where joulupukki lives ? smile

No, it's very easy. If you feel offended by a hundreds of years old tradition in a country which isn't yours you are free to go back where you came from.

Actually, I don't remember where he lives. We have the Father Frost from Laplandia and this character is not related to Christmas because he was an old and evil Slavic pagan character who is freezing people till death somewhere in the forest. After the Christianisation of Russia, this character was turned into the kind symbol of new year.

It's just a tradition nowadays, there is not any religious implication.

Yes, it should be but I think this translation is incorrect because of the origins of Snegurochka (the Snow Maiden). She might be his granddaughter or daughter because Frost's wife is Spring.

Bljad', this rabbit looks like a fiend.

I would translate this as "scum" but "Grandfather Scum" is a very wicked character even for Yugoslavia. smile

100% correct, but the 'black people" in Holland that weren't born here say it's racism. It's not their country, 80% of the dutch people are paying their livings because they can't find work or even speak dutch. So the government gives them money,

No way! and Assi, thats the solution!

STAY AWAY FROM ZWARTE PIET

Re: Zwarte Piet

I know "withe people" who don't find a job but I don't conclude "white people can't find a work". Try to be a little more specific when you are talking : can you please find statistics before saying such idiotic things ?
