Re: Joystick

I am about to buy a new joystick cause my is fucked up a little... i had this Logitech 3D like 7 years ago and after 2 week i was already broken. I changed it and the same thing happened again after 2 weeks again and again... i guess it was a monday product. Is it still working Assi? Cause after such and experience i am really not sure to buy it, even though Bender told me bought his Extreme 3d 2 years ago. But back then this joystick was like 25 € and now 50 €?

I think i am going to buy this Logitech or this one:

Almost ten years (left two months for the anniversary (^_^)), still works perfectly.

Re: Joystick

Yep, like 2 or 3 week at most. I was really pissed cause i like this joystick. Now i have been playing with this joystick below since one year but it starts to draw to the right sometimes... annoying. The strange thing is that even really expense joysticks don't have so good rates on amazon.

But i would still recommend this joystick.

Re: Joystick

Mine is still working but I have to calibrate it on a regular base, which was not needed in the beginning.
I have to admit that my current one is also my second extreme 3d.
You're wright about the price, it makes no sense that it's still so (or even more) expensive as some years ago.

Re: Joystick

Thx Assi, i remember back then you couldn't even calibrate it with a program. The only thing you could do was to turn the stick a few times around and then it was calibrated. But after a while my cursor was just jumping around like crazy. Nevermind, i prefer the Thrustmaster i guess.

Re: Joystick

...

I have here an Saitek x52 lying around since years . I bought it long time ago for cheap money. But i can't fly with this dingens.

http://www.simhq.com/wp-content/uploads … 0a_001.jpg

I missed the feeling from flying with keyboard and specially with mouse.

...

Besides... this x52 is a bit big

...

And this one lies beside the x52 in dad carton.

Saitek Evo

...

Besides... If you fly with keyboard and mouse, it helps a lot to config "t = up" and "z = down" (for curves with keyboard and mouse).

...

Re: Joystick

As arko said. A keyboard has a particular, tab in this case arrow up, down, left and right, if you hold any of this, it will use it's maximum ability. Comparing to a mouse or joystick you can smoothly go down, up etc, therefore you can be less greedy and save more energy in the plane.
But you can always tap the arrows on the keyboards if you want to gain height and speed at the same time, and as myself using the keyboard knows for sure it's the best advantage to fly with the lowest keyboard sense. A mouse is way harder to say since you can regulate the dpi (dots per second) much more.
