Hi i would like to setup my own server. Can you recommend any good hosting companies and tutorials on how to do so? Thanks

Test with a home server, first. You can rent a BF1942 server from a game hosting company, it's expensive, or if you know the basics how to manage a server choose a VPS or dedicated server, depending on your needs. You can find some tutorials for creating a Windows or Linux BF1942 server in this section.
