Battlefield 1942 on my iMac

Hi gamers,

I'm new to this forum.

I've noticed that there was a 10 year anniversary for BF1942.. awesome but because I have a mac now... its hard to download the free game on Origin.

I have the CD windows version but wont accept in my Mac CD drive.

It sux that I cannot play this game. I installed Origin and its recognises that I have a mac and the version on there is for windows... boooooo!

Is there a way to bypass this? Do I need to download the windows version and somehow install it on my Mac.

Please help?

I miss playing with this game. To be honest, I feel happy when I play this game....

Is it possible to also play online with other gamers over the world? Since I've been single for a long long time. The only thing left for me is to play this game non stop with no distraction.

Is there anyone out there that can help me achieve this by allowing me to play on my Mac?

Thanks for reading smile

Hey Lecter...

hahaha... funny guy smile

I forgot to mention that I don't want to use boot camp.

I have installed Wine but waiting for a file to use to load the game.

Yeah I'm patient... just bored..... most of my friends are married with kids... don't really spend time with me anymore and this is the only way to kill my boredom.

smile

Why don't you want to install bootcamp? It is the best way to play this game. You could as well install parallels. It is like bootcamp you just don't need a separate partition for windows. It will be installed on your system and you can switch easily between mac and windows or you can also run separate windows programs in the background. It is really convenient but if you install bootcamp the performance will be much much better.

I would install bootcamp.

I would also go with the bootcamp, played bf1942 with that on my MB pro for a couple of years. But as any clever person I nowadays have a laptop faster than any mb on the market and now I dont need to reboot all the time tongue

Re: Battlefield 1942 on my iMac

I also played a while but the whole system crashed 2 times. First it crashed with windows 7 because i didn't install the updates. Just didn't know about this. If you install it, it is important to install all the updates immediately... the next time i installed windows xp on bootcamp and was able to play some month finally. I had strange problems with TS and strange graphic bug, which i posted here somewhere... but after i installed all driver i was able to play normal.

Here are the glitches:

P.S: Move this topic to technical help.

Thanks guys for the heads up... too kind smile

I did have bootcamp years ago but it screwed up my machine so now I try to avoid that.... Parallels is a good option too... but still need to obtain a windows disc... and I'm out of luck there hehe

Re: Battlefield 1942 on my iMac

install XP parallels... but i can not promise if there is enough performance to be able to play BF42. But the new version should be better with more performance afaik.

My mac also got screwed up. Luckily i made backups all the time cause i had a bad feeling.

You have to update bootcamp in Windows, you know that right? And it still crashed?
