When was the first time you played Battlefield 1942?

Hello people,

since this is a very "old" game now, I am curious as to when you guys played this great game for the first time? Don't be "ashamed" if you are a new player, I am just curious :-)

I've played it since it got out. Of course it was not the original copy, Balkan is the perfect place for piracy, lol! But before 2 years, I started to play again, and now I have original CD.

fall 2002 at netcafe "nethouse 2000" in copenhagen

played it regularly till mid 2003, then took a complete break from it until late 2009

Single Mode in beginning of 2003. end of 2003 i got an internet connection. Since then playing it like an idiot xD

Mid 2003, first at lan parties only(every damn weekend, friday,saturday and sunday 24/7 + 8 pc's at least, and mega doses of alcohol)........ and then started playing online in 2005 i think(remember i couldn't believe people were so strong compared to myself , playing a lot in LAN and singleplayer,,, still remember that feeling, mega NOOB i was.............. , on CT server, then Team Battle Box. (TBB) germany, Nateos server, still i think the best at the time, even TBB was good (24 and then 32 players), then leibstandarte, CZBF , and now here -
If i invested all that time into studying , for sure i would have been a doctor, and not just a bachelor lol

i remember very well the day i first played battlefield. i was a punker back then and was sitting with a girl (good friend ) playing backgammon outside in the front of our apartment building and she tells me she has this new boyfriend, heavy metalist, and he is like into computergames and computer stuff and i had a computer but no internet and no idea how to use it. so i was like get him here to bring us computer games lol. the dude came and brought me 2 cd with Battlefield 1942. he installed it because i had no idea what crack means back then. it was my second game played, first being doom 3. it was back in 2003. i played it for 2-3 years i guess, not on the internet. then i rediscovered this game last year and since then i am playing right here, on SiMPLE.

I can't remember when I started playing Battlefield 1942, I think it was around 2003. I played BF1942 for maybe 2 years and then stopped. I started playing again in 2009 or 2010. It was my first person shooter game and I was instantly hooked. I used to play in russian Netorn server and hungarian Leibstandard server, because they were the only No key servers around. I could sometimes join Battlebox server and Arcor Arena, because i got some public valid CD-keys but they were used by many players, so when joining, it always popping up "CD-key in use" error message. Back then, I remember playing against some very good russian players, like TT, Natasha and some LegioN clan players in Netorn server.

I started playing at the end of 2002 and have been playing ever since, which I think is very crazy. I don't wanna know how many hours of my life I have wasted just for waiting to spawn :-)

I played on some of the same servers as you, but my old nick was "Blind Eddy"; don't know if you remember or not.

Anyway, very interesting stories so far! Thanks for the input guys.

it was in 2004 but only in singleplayer
in that time internet was via modem in westbank XD
first online was in 2010-2009 bf demo wake only, i remember old school server , KIA ;sheep server ,good game
also player or server owner called faib , gintepinte !!
and full game online was in 2012-6-20
i was playing cs 1.6 online in 2006, maybe i was only one playing it in my city!!!!!!

Yes he is a pro with that cheat he uses, Timmos knows it well. Hits dont even reg when u shoot in his back.

Old players like Rulor, Saty and many more are the real genuine pros
