Hello all!
I am experiencing some problems with the resolution of the game. I have a narrow screen with black lines on the margins in the game and the writing and the figures in the minimap look funny (funny=annoying in this case) If i set the resolution in game higher (1024 bla bla) it doesnt make any difference. Could somebody, for Gods sake help me? My screen resolution is 1366x768x32X60. This problem occurred suddenly after i made a windows 7 bootable usb memory stick. I want my fullscreen back
Thank you

small hint:
You need to mark you video.con file as read-only file.
Otherwhise Bf42 overwrites your file everytime you start your game.
Probably wrong refresh rate. Open Video.con file (check 1st link by nämeless) and change last parameter of game.setGameDisplayMode to 0, for example:
game.setGameDisplayMode 1366 768 32 0

In my case, side bars showed to keep aspect ratio. Display resolution is 1366x768 (~16:9), and BF1942 in-game resolution is 800x600 (4:3). I fixed it by changing BF1942.exe properties: "Run in 640x480 screen resolution"
You can also fix it by using BF1942-v1.61-NoCD-Widescreen-Fix.zip and choosing 1366x768 resolution.

You can also fix it by using the widescreen BF1942.exe and choosing 1366x768 resolution.
You can also change the aspect ratio.
renderer.fieldOfView 1
This setting defaults to 1 for a standard 4:3 monitor. Change to suit your aspect ratio:
1.33333 for 16:9
1.25 for 15:9
1.2 for 16:10
That's not needed if you use the widescreen BF1942: BF1942-v1.61-NoCD-Widescreen-Fix.zip.
I know.
hi all and thank you for your help. nothing worked as it should of. i will try that widescreen patch.
