What Mouse should I buy

Need a new mouse asap

Any suggestions? Two notes: dont want it too big and I need one that I can set up 400 DPI.

I used Microsoft SidewinderX5 and Razer DeathAdder in the recent past, both arent turning well know and freeze alot.

Lec, let me allow to answer you.

The one that you chose is good enough.

BUT before choosing a mouse, there are several parameters to be taken into account :

- Are you left-handed person or a right-handed ?
- Have you have small hands (Not a stupid question lol)
- Use a DPI !
- Laser or optic ?
- How many buttons would you use ?
- How much money you would pay ?

Hope you choose a good one.

- right handed
- normal
- 400 DPI
- ive used both, whas best?
- 2 only, left click to shoot, right to zoom
- 50€ max

i highly doubt there's anything wrong with those mice. probably something in ur pc "freezing"; hardware or software, and not them

Re: What Mouse should I buy

I am very satisfied with my mx518 (g400), because it has 3 speed settings on it, right next to the wheel , and i find it very useful while playing with tank or plane, even with infantry these settings are sometimes fantastic, it s a beast, longevity is guaranteed, i have it for 7 years , and it has  i d say more then a million clicks by now(behaving still as brand new) . it goes well with logitech software, where you can adjust dpi settings as you wish... it s very handy, quite anatomic, and inside its program you can save settings for many games.....
i d go for it, when i bought it, it was like 50 euro, but now, it s a joke 20 $

Re: What Mouse should I buy

lecter, i know you wrote 50€ max and asap, but if you change your mind and possibly can pay a little extra + wait 15-45 days then logitech is releasing g500s (successor to g500). will probably cost 45 to 70€

looks promising, but may be average or below. i'd read some reviews before buying.

I can recommend the Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0. Never tried anything else though so can't really compare.

Re: What Mouse should I buy

Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 is a bit old, you can't adjust DPI. I don't like it, but I'm a lousy player. smile
I tested mine and strangely it says it has 200 DPI resolution, which should be 400 DPI. I used this MouseTest.exe from this webpage Enotus Mouse Test.
I heard wonderful things about Razer DeathAdder mouse, never tried it, though.

Atm, I'm cleaning every part of my 3-year-old Razer Lachesis and it gonna be just like new. Bought it for 50% of price and the shop that sold it went bankrupt soon after smile

Lecter, a good read: Mouse Optimization Guide: Acceleration Fix and Polling Rate. It's a guide made for Counter-Strike: Source.

it comes as 400 DPI so you can't adjust much.
