Maybe, just MAYBE, Xbox 720 / PS4 coming later this year will mean slightly better PC games, since the hardware is somewhat better, meaning the ability to design games that are a bit more complex, and not as dumbed down as most console games are.

The shift to full HD alone will bring a tiny improvement since lowres stuff won't be ported directly over to PC anymore (BF3, and tonnes of other crappy console ports).

I'm always excited when a new console gen comes out, but overall I think things will be virtually the same, and console games will continue to influence pc games in the same bad way they have done up until now, or even worse.

well ... ea is trying to copy the CoD money machine that has a blockbuster release each year .... new bf is currently far behind with a game every second year

imo, bf4 is quite a misnomer, should be : bf3.1 or even better : new mappack, cause thats what it is :-] ... same graphics, same audio, same menus, same physics, same gui, same gameplay, same everything, just new areas ...

The reason that I never liked to play the newer battlefields, is because there is no historical background of it (I see troops on jetskis, come on....). 1942 and vietnam are still my favorite
