Help with installing...

Hello simple folks! (no offence, obvs...)
I know there will be a thread on here somewhere that addresses this but buggered if I can find it. My buddy wants to install 1942 and jump about with us Simples. He has been to the download page and got the various packages but I cant remember the sequence of running, patching, updating PB etc. (I am 64, you Know...) Can some kind person either spell it out to me or point to a previous thread pretty please?
Also - he has a Mac so it may not even be possible....

Nothing but problems...
He needs an IBM compatible PC with above link (download Battlefield 1942) installed

OR

Install Linux and Wine on a separate drive and have Battlefield 1942 installed on a windows drive on same computer
Then you can run Battlefield on Linux

I tried once on mac. Installed dosbox and then tried to install Windows...entered set up. My mouse didn't work so I couldn't proceed. Bahhh!
Just problems!

Perhaps you can use crossover to run bf1942 on a mac. Or try whisky, a free alternative. These programs are based on wine.
I dont any experience with those programs.

Hey Frotter! Helping your buddy install BF1942 is a bit like keeping track of daily routines—just like how many of us rely on Luton prayer times to stay on schedule for prayers. Hope he gets set up and joins the fun soon!

So, when I want to play BF42 I start my Mac with Windows. Works like a charm
